A family meal to celebrate my partners birthday.

Third visit to Albert's Shed for me (also visited Alberts in Didsbury a couple of times). I always enjoy eating here and the location in Castlefield just adds to the experience. The atmosphere is always lively and overall this is a pleasant, modern restaurant.

We had a variety of starters and these were all well received by our party. I ordered bruschetta which was tasty however, as with the mushrooms on toast that a couple of our party had too, the amount of tomato and mushrooms on the respective plates were sizable and could probably be reduced.

Main courses of steaks (fillet and sirloin), lamb, chicken and seafood were again all very well received. The steaks and lamb were all beautifully cooked to the required orders and vegetables and sauces again well presented and tasty.

The theme continued to the sweets which again were well presented and of good sized portions. Overall, food was very good and everyone enjoyed their meal.

We had a couple of bottles of wine with the meal, a Zinfandel Rose and my partner and I chose a Portugese red. This was a step away from our normal Argentinian, Chilean and Spanish choice and was a pleasant surprise and complimented our steaks beautifully. The wine and additional drinks (including after dinner liqueurs) were all reasonably priced and as such, good value.

A couple of negative issues -

We did have to wait a few minutes at the entrance whilst someone came to greet us and we were not given the option of a drink in the seating area before going top our table (we were booked for 8 pm and arrived around a quarter of an hour early).

Some of the starter plates had finger marks around the edges (this looked like a kitchen issue since the waiters(resses) were using napkins to serve the dishes.

There was a delay at the end of our evening of around quarter of an hour from ordering liqueurs to these being served.

These didn't detract from our evening and we enjoyed our visit to the restaurant and it was a lovely setting for our celebration.

Will we eat at Albert's Shed again - of course we will!

My wife and I had a lovely meal here. The Venue is very close to the canel and a lovely setting. I had the Lamb rump that was brilliant and my wife the mushroom risoto. The service was very good, had a bottle of wine and was offered a bottle of water in quant vessels. Overall a great venue with brilliant service too.

10 of us went on Easter Sunday. We paid deposits of £10 per head which they did not take from our bill. The waiter basically huffed and took a bill and after asking twice we finally got it. The service as poor. Low cost eat outs such ad nandos and frankie and bennys service is much better.
We all had the Sunday special. Half group ordered pork with crackling. It came with non. We asked and got told there was none left. We asked why they didn't tell us when we ordered we didn't get a response. One of the group asked for York puds to make up for it which we got. It would have been nice to offer but we had to ask
The food was delicious so full marks for kitchen staff. Its just a potty our waiters were not as attentive
We all agreed to go back as this may be a one off. But I would like to see better service considering we paid over £200 and had to leave a tip ad this was added to bill.

Had a really good experience at Alberts Shed on a busy Easter Sunday, one of out party of five was really late. No problem told to relax and enjoy a drink, which we did. Food was excellent throughout and the service was exceptional. Really good buzz about the restaurant, will definitely be going back

we wanted somewhere that 5 of us aged between 53 and 14 could enjoy and celebrate a birthday. As usual, Albert's Shed did not disappoint. Great buzzy atmosphere, but still we could conduct a conversation at the table. Attentive and friendly service, without being intrusive. A varied menu, but excellently executed, something there we could all enjoy. An original cocktail menu - the sprinkles on the cake. Cost for 5 -£200. but well worth it. Albert's shed makes an occasion special. Thank you everyone who contributed to our special day. And to the couple near us who got engaged after the girl found the ring in her dessert - good luck!!! After 27 years of marriage, I can confirm, you will need it xxxx
