Came for my boyfriends birthday meal. Arrived early so went up to the bar for a cocktail and the decor is fab!!! Meal good but overpriced for the amount that you get - the sharing starter could have been bigger. Will return but only on a special occasion or may try the cheaper buffet option.

Thank you for your comments. We are really glad that you enjoyed your visit but at the same time concerned that you found our menu expensive.

Just to let you know that we have a number of value for money offers such as the Wine and Dine Menu (A Three Course Meal with a glass of wine for 17.95), Feel Good Menu, Daily Specials, and The Early Bird / Pre Theatre Menu.

We also do The WAH Buffet on certain dates in the evenings. Please have a look at our website for more details.

We value your custom and look forward to your next visit.

The restaurant is nicely decorated , the menu is quite limited and over priced for what you get in your plate. We had a sharing platter which was nice but again when you pay almost £17 for, you would expect a little bit more than that. But all in all was a good evening , with good company but I don't think I would visit again in the near future.

First time visiting vermilion tonight, first thoughts... Its not cheap! The decor is lovely, the staff are friendly. The menu is quite limited and The food is slightly overpriced, £12-£15 for a main course, drinks not cheap either. 3 of us went, had 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 desserts (we shared) 2 alcoholic drinks and 3 soft drinks, bill was £96. Make of it what you will but i wont be back in a hurry.

We went to one of the few buffets held at this restaurant and it was best Thai Indian Buffet that we've had by far.
There is so much choice and no limit to the number of times you can refill your plate.
Some of the food is prepared personally for you as you stand and watch.
Fantastic, cant wait to go again.

The only redeeming factor to this restaurant is the food.

I contacted this restaurant back in January to book a party in February. I received an email confirmation after submitting an enquiry through the website. A week later I received no response so I decided to call. I spoke to "James" he said he was about to go into a management meeting so he would put my enquiry across. I left him with my details but decided no response.

I submitted another online require but again received no response. I should have taken this as an indication as to how disorganised the management are at this venue.

Despite this, the venue was booked and all terms arranged. Bad mistake. It appeared the emphasis was more on money making than providing any service at all.

One of the managers turned up two hours late for a meeting to discuss the fine points of the party. The manager was made aware we wished to bring our own DJ and told this was no problem. A provisional restriction was placed on the level volume played and this was agreed.

Upon arrival at the venue, nothing appeared to be ready. The bar staff placed a group of drinks at the end of the bar and vanished into a back room. The drinks went warm. Despite being informed waiters and waitresses were to circulate the bar and take drinks requests, this did not happen.

Our DJ was restricted from playing any songs at all and our party were forced to listen to music from an era that they were not even born in!

I cannot fault the food in the venue. It was good. When seated in the abacus room I was informed again waiters will be circulating the room to take orders. I saw a man in a suit pull his pen and pad out once to take an order from the table nearest the bar and then he went behind the bar to serve drinks as everyone had to come up to the bar request soft drinks . No drinks were placed on the the table.

The food at the Buffett was not stocked and we had to remind the staff to get food.

The staff began to eat from the Buffett we paid for even tho members of our party still had not dined!!!!!!!

Rather than enjoy a birthday celebration, this was a headache.

The staff did not clean tables in the bar area and dirty glasses loitered the venue.

I should consider an action for fundamental breach of contract considering the situation with the DJ. After speaking to the DJ, he was informed different version of events from what the manager had told us! Apparently the music played conflicted with the music being played in the restaurant, some of the music being played in the restaurant was more modern than what was being played in the bar.

I then had to watch the manager literally drop a delicate cake on the table rather than place it. The cake was not heavy at all.

I attended this venue in January for a late Christmas party and I was very impressed. Probably because the management knew it was a barristers party so money would not be an object. I guess it's all style and no substance.

For the money paid I would have expected this event to run as smooth as possible rather than the night turn into an argument asking the management and staff to do basic things in the running of a restaurant bar.

I have held events in Manchester at other Indian restaurants in the city centre. They have been without the headache I had at this venue.

Thank you for your feedback comment. We have thoroughly investigated your comments with the staff and management concerned.

The events and the reservations team have checked all the enquiries in January and February but could not find any record of your enquiry. The only record we have is the enquiry we received on the 2nd of March for the 9th of March. The enquiry was dealt with utmost importance as there was only 6 days left for the event.

After speaking with the Event Manager we found out that a meeting was delayed waiting for the dj to arrive who was booked by the host herself and not the venue. Also the Manager confirmed that the initial agreement was that music would be only allowed in the private function room and not in the main bar. After some changes in the plan the Event Manager agreed to allow a welcome song on arrival in the main bar and after 10pm once the restaurant service was over. However keeping in mind the requests of the party host the Manager did allow the music in the main bar to start as early as 9pm.

The party was a 16th birthday and the young guests kept going to the bar for soft drinks even though there were staff asking for drink orders. The Manager did accept that he did try some food to ensure that the taste was as per requirement.

Having said the above we are sad that we could not let you play loud music at the start of the night as the sound flows to the restaurant and disturbs our diners. It is unfortunate that on this occasion we were not able to satisfy you completely but hope to be able to do so in the future.

Best regards
