Gone are the days when Linen tantalised my taste buds all the while creating a visionary twist.
Having been one of my favourite haunts in Manchester, I was sceptical about returning having found out the head chef had departed. I should've paid attention to my scepticism as the food failed to live up to my expectations.
Pigeon starter, beetroot houmous was lovely however the pigeon slightly tough. Cumbrian lamb was sent back - upon ordering the waitress politely stated that it would arrive pink - however it was cooked through and was tough. The waitress brought it back - the meat was nice however there was nothing spectacular about the presentation of the dish.
Haddock risotto - no different than what I could conjure up in my own kitchen.
My review may seem overly pedantic however my expectations stem from the quality that Linen once provided.
