As I spent a lot of times in business hotels, these 2 days in the Velvet in Manchester were a welcome change. The hotel is situated in the gay village of Manchester, but do NOT let this bother you. The beautifully decorated rooms (and I only saw the standard room!) and the perfect service make this an ideal location to discover Manchester. All attractions are at walking distance. Confort is worth all its stars, we had no problems with street noise (we had a room at the back but above the bar) and both breakfast and dinner were up to our expectations. GO THERE!
