“Not bad”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

We were given a groupon voucher as a gift to eat here. Had the choice from the dukes menu. Pancake starters were lovely! For mains we both had the Peter the grate steak. Was nicely cooked however it tasted a bit like a big mac, I think this was due to the gherkins through the cheese. Ice cream for dessert was standard.

Overall a pleasant experience, sort of felt like I was dining down a back street in Russia. If I was given another voucher I think I would go back if only for the pancakes.

“Excellent food...entertainment pure cheese!!”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Second visit here..used Groupon voucher for a treat!
3 courses all delicious and good portion sizes. Wonderful service and lovely atmosphere.
If you stay after 8 you pay £5 for the entertainment...a cruise ship singer stuck in the 80's with a lovely voice a man in a giant tunnel spring and a pretty acrobat.
A fun night out on a budget.
Full vodka and wine menu....a little pricey.
All round maybe go back in another 12 months.

“entertainment”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

the food here is excellent if expensive. But the highlight is the entertainment - very unusual! Have seen a man dressed as a slinky, one dressed as twins, and a female gymnast, all to russian music. Pretty unique at least in my experience.

Reviewed October 26, 2012

Went early in the evening on a thursday on a groupon deal. restaurant was quiet when we arrived, but filling up as we left. Booking is recommended just in case.
Ive never eaten russian before so didnt know what to expect. I had blini to start which was lovely, a salmon filled pancake with rice and salad, the peter the great steak for main which was amazining (spicey carrots!) and chocolate torte to finish.
A great night, and will certianly go back if we are in manchester again.

“Tasty food!”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

I visited St Petersburg on Saturday 6th October with my boyfriend. We had vouchers off Groupon for a 3 course meal for two.

The restaurant is not very impressive from the outside, as you enter it through the same entrance to a Spar shop. However, we didn’t let this put us off.

Inside it was quite busy with a good atmosphere. We were shown to our table straight away and given the food and drinks menus.

We had to choose from the Duke Stroganov menu as part of our deal. We had pancakes to start with which were lovely. Although, we could have done with two pancakes instead of just one! For our main courses we had Chicken Stroganof and Chicken Rissoles, and we both agreed they were both tasty dishes which we really enjoyed. We had ice cream and pancakes to finish, which again were lovely. To drink we had toffee, caramel, and blueberry vodka, which were delicious! We were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was, and would definitely visit again.

The staff were friendly and polite, although sometimes it was difficult to catch their eye to ask for more drinks. Also, we did wait for about 20 minutes for our desserts to be served, and had to ask to the waitress for them in the end. We put this down to them being quite busy. This was the only bad point about our visit.

We didn’t experience much of the entertainment as we only stopped until 7.30pm. When we left there was a man singing to Russian music. It was quite loud, but we enjoyed it after a few drinks!!

I didn’t have any problems booking a table. I booked online a few weeks before the visit and had a prompt reply.
