“Really good curry”
Reviewed May 25, 2014 via mobile

First visit and definitely not the last. Really good food and nice ambience - hidden gem cos it doesn't look much from the outside. The pakistani specials are particularly recommended. And as with most place in Rusholme reasonably priced

“Love this place!!”
Reviewed May 17, 2014

Had a friend tell us about this area about ten to fifteen years ago and it is still the only restaurant my wife and I have gone to when we've visited Manchester ,England. The food is fantastic and so is the staff. It's like going home to one of your favorite places' to eat. We always laugh after leaving "the hut", never had anything but great meals there!! Don't miss this gem!

“Amazing service”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

I booked Spicy Hut for my hen party. There were 30 of us in total. We were seated on the upper level, taking up about half of it. This is suitably separate from the main restaurant area.
We all arrived at different times, though most were quite delayed by traffic and being late after an earlier element of the hen party ran over. I arrived over 30 minutes late. Spicy Hut were great with us and appeared grateful that we had bothered to give them notice we would arrive late.
The service was amazing, the food as ever, served to a good standard. Those that didn't like spice were provided a choice of various English dishes served with chips. The restaurant coped well with our rearranging the furniture to take group photographs, general noise levels and disorganisation.
Even prior to the day, the restaurant were great. they reassured me that my friends and I would be able to wear saris for the event without causing offence to anyone. They also didn't require any pre-ordering which seemed unusual for a party of this size.
All in all, Spicy Hut provided us with a great night out and the freedom to be able to celebrate. I have eaten there in a large group previously and as far as I can tell, they never fail to impress.

“Best Prawns and food in this genre”
Reviewed May 6, 2014

We have eaten here many times, we live thirty miles away.
Initially recommended by some nurses at the Manchester Royal Infirmary, where I was having some treatment; and we have kept going back.
The King Prawns are some of the best we have had in the UK..
We especially recommend the King Prawn Pakora starter.
My wife's favourite curry, of many she has tried, is the Pama, a creamier Madras.
My favourite is any medium dish with lamb on the bone.
Sizzling fish curry is also excellent, we can just keep going.
All the staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble.
We have tried many restaurants, in Rusholme, and this is by far our favourite.

“Good but not anything special.”
Reviewed April 28, 2014 via mobile

Was expecting the best considering reviews on here and top rating on Trip Advisor for the curry mile. Had chop tikka starter which was excellent then chicken desi which was quite ordinary, partners lamb sultani was better. Main criticism was charging extra for salad with poppadums which wasn't ordered and seems a bit sneaky to say the least. It was a very nice salad but normally you get a small free salad or you can sometimes order something bigger. It was only £1.20 but it finished the night off less well for us.

Thank you for your review, sorry that we could not meet to your exceptions. You have every right to express how you felt, but I would like to clear one point that you made about the Salad , If you look at our Menu the first item it says "Poppadom 2 in a portion £1.00, with the description below, Served With Red Onions ,Mango Chutney, Mint Sauce, Coleslaw & Indian Salad with every order & charge 60p per person, refills free". The amount of man hours we spend in preparation on the Dips & salad, its a very small price to pay more or less at cost, Our competitors on curry mile charge lots more. We constantly monitor our prices to make sure that we are on level or below our competitors on the Curry Mile.
