“Miles from the airport”
Reviewed June 30, 2011

It's a standard Premier Inn. For the money (£55 this time through laterooms.com), decent enough value. Room as always was clean and modern. TV didn't work properly but I decided not to make a fuss as I wasn't planning on watching any.

Main complaint was the distance from the airport which is described as 0.9 miles. Without any English money (this was just a one-night stopover en route elsewhere), it was a prerequisite that the hotel should be walking distance. Ha! No way is this less than a mile, and not walking distance. Even if it was walking distance there is no actual way of walking it on the major roads. So I had to get taxis and wait for taxis with a card reader so I could pay by card (£12 in total). Felt pretty annoyed about this as I could have prepared for it if I'd known the truth.

That said, I would happily recommend the hotel, but just bear in mind it's not as close as they claim.

Stayed overnight before long flight. First time in Premier Inn and now will not be the last . Will use this hotel in future when flying from Manchester. Got the £29 deal for family room. This cannot be beaten.(Please note Overnight car park is £5) Check inn was quick and professional. Bar area and restaurant clean bright and friendly. Rooms were excellent ,well equipped, comfortable beds, very clean with good bathrooms and facilities (free wi fi). Rooms were very quiet and well soundproofed . Breakfast buffet was excellent (Kids U16 eat free with adult) and great value for money. Overall a brilliant start to a holiday with value for money and quality which cannot be beaten.
I combined this hotel with meet and greet at the terminal which was far far cheaper and more convenient than any other alternative available. Hotel is minutes away from the terminals.

Usual Premier Inn standards, good service and clean rooms, the family rooms are much much larger than your average premier inn room, there are walk in showers only at this hotel no bath, but all still great. Would reccommend especially as you can get the £29 deals here! The fright terminal premier inn is opposite and apparently is the newest of the 2 hotels and anyone can use it, so would prob give the freight terminal a try next time. Our room overlooked the airport terminal building, so is very close! You do have to pay a small additional fee to park overnight about £5, but nearly all airport hotels charge now-a-days.

I have probably put this in the wrong place, but we are due to stay at Premier Inn in October the night before we fly away on Honeymoon! We are planning on checking our bags in for our flight the day before we travel, to save a very early morning, and to enable us to get breakfast. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to walk from the airport to the hotel, and if so how long it takes. Also, we have been told the breakfast starts at 7am on weekdays, but have stayed in Airport hotels in the past where they may open at 7am, but the hot food isn't available/ready to be served at that time. Has anyone has an early breakfast here (ie 7am) who can confirm if everything is ready or not.

There's probably not a lot that hasn't already been said about Premier Inns. You know when you book exactly what you are going to get - a clean room, freeview TV channels, a reasonable night's sleep, and a standard menu in the restaurant.

A negative point was that the room was absolutely boiling. I suspect this is because the air-conditioning seems to be controlled centrally and they only turn it on when they are asked to do so [in the interests of saving the planet, of course]. Even when it was switched on all it was doing was moving air round, not actually cooling the room. Given the hotel's proximity to the M56, there's no way you can sleep with the window open.

The food in the restaurant was exactly of the quality to be expected: inoffensive pub grub. You can eat quite heartily for under £20 per person. I also thought £3.20 for a pint was quite reasonable.

There is wireless internet, but a nominal fee of £5 for 24 hours is charged. Cheaper than most other hotels.

Overnight parking is £5 regardless of whether you are a guest. I do think this is a bit cheeky and nothing more than a way for the hotel to make a few extra quid.

In summary, I would stay here again - but only in winter when the room likely won't need cooling. I would not stay here again during the summer months.

Staff warmly greeted us. The room was clean and comfortable. Coffee and tea making facilities were provided, but amenities were pretty basic as you would expect for the price. The bed was very comfortable and extra pillows were provided. We felt like we got a great value for the money spent and had a good night's sleep. The only problem we experienced was when the cook didn't come in the morning and we had to walk to another Premier Inn to get breakfast. However, we still were able to have a good breakfast, full English breakfast with a good selection of food choices, and made it to the airport in time for check-in.

Room Tip: Book over a month in advance for best rate.
