stayed last wednesday night with my fiancee. we were on the 5th floor with excellent views of the city skyline. room was superb with a king sized bed, flat screen tv and what made the room was the various extras such as a free safe, tea making facilities and complimentary bottles of water. must add the bathroom to was superb with a deep bath seperate shower and various toiletries. all in all a pleasure to stay and would certainly go again.

Room Tip: ask and you may get a room high up with its superb views.

We had a great stay at the Crown Plaza, Manchester City Centre.

Although our original was not ready when we checked in at 15:30, it was dealt with ins quick and professional manner.

The location is ok. Close to the Arndale centre, about 15 min walk to Manchester Piccadilly train station.

The room was spacious, quiet, in very good repair and very comfortable with ample work space - another power point could have been a benefit. Beds were very inviting and made for a couple of great nights sleep.

The bathroom was immaculate with a separate bath and shower.

All staff we dealt with were attentive and friendly.

I always find breakfast at most Holiday Inns - except Express - well over priced (£15 per person) for what one gets. The basics - 4 types of fruit and berries; standard cereals and nuts, a couple of fruit flavoured yogurts, some cheese, beacon, fried eggs, mushroom, hash brown, beans, white and brown bread were available. No nice special bread.

Haddock, pouched eggs, scramble eggs etc were (expensively) extra - considering the price for the original breakfast.

Free Internet is now standard for the chain's brands, but is a bit sllllloooooowwwww. 3G much quicker and reliable.

Stayed one Tuesday night in room 820 a club room on the 8th floor, the room was up to the usual Crowne Plaza standard and the bathroom was immaculate. On check in the young receptionist apologised that due to a leak there was no hot water temporarily but it would be back on later, she was true to her word. We took advantage of the club lounge, after a hard days shopping, chilling with the papers and having a very nice coffee from the Nespresso machine. After a night out in the city centre, we opted to have the continental breakfast the following morning in the club lounge, inclusive within the room rate. We were very well looked after by a very friendly Portuguese lass called Sara, as she had the night before serving us drinks another perk of the club lounge. When I asked if there was any soya milk available, she went off straight away to find me some for my cereals. We had a brief chat with her it turned out she had only been at the Crowne Plaza since April. However her enthusiasm for her job clearly showed and we hope to see her again when we return on the 19th and 20th November (if not before). This hotel is, as I have said in a previous review, our hotel of choice in Manchester, for its great location, great club rooms and lounge and excellent service.

We chose this hotel as is has a great central location, within walking distance for most attractions that we wanted to visit. The hotel is in impeccable condition, the rooms are nice and the bathrooms have a bath and a separate shower cubicle and the beds are sooooo comfy! The staff were friendly and helpful, the parking was literally just across the street and lots of shops, bars and restaurants within a 10 minute walk.

Oh gosh this was fab! Although we only stayed for a night I really enjoyed it. It's in a good central location next to the print works, trams and the city centre. The rooms were pristine and spotless the beds were comfy and perfect for after a busy day of shopping and an evening at the print works. The breakfast was nice a good selection of a traditional English breakfast, fruit and cereal. I would recommend this to any one, the parking however was a bit daft!
