We had a club room on the 8th floor, the views of the city were fabulous, our room had a bling batchelor pad feel to it, very black & glossy. A large comfortable bed, the bedding & pillows were wonderful! I was surprised at how much traffic and city noise we could hear to say we were on the 8th floor, it was a Saturday night though. Unfortunately for us, at 3 am, we had to call Reception to ask that they speak to our neighbouring room as their music and voices were way too loud. Although it was initially quieter, the noise gradually increased again. So at 4am, we spoke to Reception who then physically went to the room to ask them to be quiet. It appeared that the occupants had 'guests' which isn't allowed. Anyway, after a lot of noise and shouting as the 'guests' left at 4.30 am we managed to get a few hours sleep. This problem was nothing to do with the hotel it was simply the selfish idiots in the room next door having absolutely no consideration for others. On checking out, the Receptionist immediately apologized for the problems during the night and asked if we would speak to the Manager. The Manager was very gracious and apologetic and discounted our room as a gesture. We use Crowne Plaza hotels regularly and often have club rooms which gives us access to club lounges, where you can have free drinks & nibbles early in the evening. The nibbles here were disappointing. A few meat & fish tiny canapes. Nothing else, even a few nuts & crisps would have been great. Although there were several complimentary alcoholic drinks to choose from, including a very good red wine. Also, in the morning there is a complimentary continental breakfast in the club lounge. This was very good, with ample choice. Great location in the Northern Quarter and just a 2 minute walk to the Arndale shopping centre. We will definitely stay here again.

Stayed in Club room. Rooms are very nicely furnished, clean and new. Very different from Crowne Plaza Kensington. We even watched a free movie in room given complimentary to Priority Card Members.

We checked in late at about 9.30pm and nobody offered to help us ladies with our luggage to our rooms although we have a baby with us. So we waited in full view of the reception with our massive luggages at the sofas. We had to wait till our car is parked at the public car park opposite for our men to bring the luggage up ourselves.

Club Lounge, however, was not as well furnished and not very spacious.
Waiter at Lounge cannot cope with his work and the coffee machine is constantly out of water.
No hot food is provided during breakfast. Only bread and crossants.
Good selection of drinks, however.

We stayed in the Crowne Plaza as we were going to a concert at the MEN. The locality to the venue was superb and very easy to find parking.

I have stayed in other Crowne Plazas in the past but this is far superior to them.

The reception staff were pleasant (more so on check out than arrival, they could've done with a bit of a smile). The room was gorgeous with modern and classy decor. I love the big red chair!

Both bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Lovely separate bath and spacious shower. I was very impressed with the design and space. The bed was big and incredibly comfortable and we had a wonderful sleep. I have seen other reviews complaining about noise from both other rooms and main street below, we didn't experience this at all.

However there were a couple of let downs, we were advised there would be bathrobes in the room which we didn't have and also the bathoom was lacking toiletries such as shower gel (only an inconvenience if you'd forgotton anything). To be fair, there was an option to call and ask for anything that was forgotten but we were okay so didn't bother.

The is plenty of mirrors in room and bathroom but the dressing table was a little bit impractical with the lack of lighting for doing hair and make up.

We ordered breakfast to the room as a treat but it was a bit disappointing. It tasted okay, pretty average. I wouldn't say it was completely fresh and it was a quite cold. We didn't receive any condiments including butter for toast, sauces and salt and pepper so when these finally arrived (15 minutes later after calling) the breakfast was nearly gone and the toast stone cold by this point.

Overall despite the minor issues I was pleasantly surprised about this hotel in comparison to others and I would recommend it. We got a good deal so I would stay again if I saw a similar deal.

Room Tip: We are priority club members which cost nothing to join. If you join this before you travel, the hot...

Stayed here with friends as an overnight stop for a night out. The hotel itself is positioned well for the train station and reception staff were very good and efficient. We had booked a Club Room on the 8th floor which includes a private guest lounge including free soft drinks and water of which there were plenty, an excellent Nespresso coffee machine with a selection of coffee pods. In between 6 and 8 in the evening they serve canapes with a variety of alcoholic drinks, including red and white wine, gin, vodka, whisky etc with mixers and bottled beers, we thought it was a nice extra, especially when there was free wifi on computers in the room with a selection of newspapers, some games to play and a big flat screen tv and comfy chairs. The lounge was well used in the evening. The room was excellent, clean, comfy and ultra modern as was the bathroom which even came with lovely bathrobes and slippers. We had an excellent nights sleep due a big comfy bed.

The big let down was breakfast, what a disgrace. First we were shown to a table and no-one came to take our orders for drinks. When we finally got the drinks, they provided the tea in some sort of metal pot (not a teapot) but it was awful to pour, you had to tip it up nearly upside down, our coffee drinking friend was not offered top ups either by the guy serving the coffee. My friend and I went to get some orange juice, there were no glasses and we had to ask, I asked for soya yogurt (listed on the breakfast list) they had none. Choice of cereals was not bad but all the promised extra like pumpkin seeds, dried banana slices, apricots etc were empty or nearly empty. The orange juice was horrible where they get it I am not sure but its disgusting. Cooked breakfast, burnt and leathery black pudding, no vegetarian sausages, dried up scrambled eggs and fried eggs with hard yolks, shrivelled up what must have been fried bread and the most disgusting mushrooms which I would have said were tinned but yet they serve fresh grilled tomatoes. They have one of those stupid toasting machines where you place the bread on a moving belt through the grill part. The only problem being a member of staff commandeered the machine for what must have been room orders. Breakfast which was £15 each so a total of £60 for four was an absolute rip off and we wished we had gone to the cafe next door if we wanted cooked. For a business as big as Crowne Plaza whose rooms and public rooms are very stylish and designed you would think their breakfasts and service would have matched. We came down for breakfast at 9.15 which is 45 mins before cut off at 10, so you cannot use the excuse that we were last in so things had run out, if you pay this sort of price for breakfast you should get the selection advertised on the breakfast list. We will come back and stay in a Club Room but have the inclusive continental breakast included in the Club Room price and served in the club lounge.

Room Tip: The club rooms are great.

Last time I stayed at this hotel, it was with my friend when we were having a girlie shopping expedition. This time I was with hubby. The hotel had not changed. It was still manned by lovely reception staff who couldn't've been more helpful. We also got in the room early which if you have read any of my previous reviews, you will know that this is a big 'plus' for me so they had already won my gold award. The room, despite being classed only a 'standard' room was very classy, lovely and very spacious. The bar area was very relaxing with leather seats and settees. Prices were reasonable and service was great. The evening meal in the restaurant was really nice and although we were the only diners in there, we were not made to feel uncomfortable. The restaurant manager Antonio was so lovely and nothing was too much trouble for him. He seemed very professional but also very warming, chatting to us and answering our questions but never seeming intrusive. He was a credit to the hotel. The location of the Crowne Plaza is fantastic. 2mins walk from Victoria station. 3 mins to the Arndale Centre. 2 mins to Printworks. So everything is on your doorstep. It's a brilliant place to stay and the staff are wonderful.
