“Lovely apartment, great value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2010

We only stayed for 1nt, but without hesitation would return. The apartments are situated across from the Printworks, seconds from The Arndale and easy walking distance to most other attractions in Manchester. The close proximity to the Printworks could result in some noise in the living area, but did not effect our sleep quality.
The apartment (1bed) was clean and spacious enough for the 2 of us. We had all amenities you would need, TV, DVD, Dishwasher, Microwave, Washing Machine, Fridge. These are things you would not get when staying in a hotel.
Overall, for the price, these apartments are worth everypenny.

I stay here all the time whilst working in Manchester. City Stop is a 'home away from home' - great value and excellent service. I would highly recommend staying here whilst on business or pleasure. I've stayed several times. I like that City stop is very close to the Arndale Shopping centre also the M.EN Area and the nightlife the location of the apartments you really can`t get better

City Stop Apartments are in a great location for exploring the centre of Manchester. Five of us (part of a hen party) stayed in our spacious and clean flat. There was plenty of hot water and the shower and bath were in good condition. The beds were rather lumpy. We paid £55 a night each, which seemed very fair considering we were in a group and wanted to hang out together - in a hotel we would have had our own rooms but it wouldn't have been anywhere near as much fun.
The main thing, which many reviewers have referred to, is the immense dim from the Printworks opposite and the crowds visiting the surrounding bars and clubs. We stayed on a Saturday night and the noise was pretty amazing - not so much music as loads of people shouting til 3:30 or 4am. We were on the fourth (top) floor and it was really difficult to nod off - had we been lower down it would be like attempting to sleep in the middle of the rowdiest party on earth. That's the downside of what is a very good location. Take your ear plugs and you should manage to get some sleep.

This is an amazing location and the apartments are great. Just be sure you coordinate your arrival since the check-in is at 2pm and is not flexible, however the can take care of your luggage while you go around the city or eat something at Printworks while the aparment gets ready.

For a good value break, this is the place to book, the rooms are well presented, the reception staff are really friendly and the location is ideal, with excellent metro/bus links and the Printworks complex is right opposite. One slight issue that may put people off is the obvious noise from the Printworks, however inspite of having a front facing apartment where the living area looked straight at the complex, It was a lot quieter than I expected and I could barely hear any outside noise from the bedroom. I unreservedly recommend the City Stop Apartments and will definately return there whenever I visit Manchester

Went with 2 friends for a night out. The apartments are less than 5 mins from Victoria train station, and right next to the printworks (look for LLoyds the bar and it's right opposite). The location is fantastic really, you're a couple of minutes away from the Arndale centre for great shopping, there's a variety of bars and restaurants in the printworks itself and some just on the outside eg Tiger Tiger and the Birdcage. We also wandered up to the Northern Quarter (Sociorehab = amazing cocktails!) which was again only 5 mins away, not a dodgy walk but there was one point where we felt the need to cross the road.

On arrival at the apartments we were well impressed by the welcome, we checked in and were walked up to our apartment where we were given a list of places where you can receive a discount on showing your room key. We were also given a breakfast pack, bread marmalade and some juice which was a nice touch. Impressed with the room on arrival, very industrial, exposed brick work etc. Seemed very modern and the table had been set giving it a show home feel. The rooms are spacious and it made a really nice change to staying in a hotel.

Downsides: smokey smell coming from the boiler cupboard with an ironing board. Bathroom not up to decorative standard of the rest of the apartment. Seemed a high side to climb over to get in the bath! A lot of the rooms have double beds which was a bit of a pain, I would have thought they could get more bookings having more rooms with twin beds. We had two double bedrooms, and the living room had a double (I think) sofa bed and two sofas, plenty of space for the 3 of us. There was only one mirror in the entire apartment though, in the bathroom. Baring in mind they provide a hairdryer ini each bedroom how are you meant to do your hair/make up?! The clock didn't work in the living room. To be honest these were all little niggles and I probably would have given the place 5 out of 5, had it not been for the young male housekeeping attendant walking in to our room without knocking. Why would you do that on the morning of departure anyway?!

We went on a Thursday night and it was about £90, works out a lot more expensive on a weekend. I phoned for a price on a Saturday and for the same price could have a 1 bed apartment sleeping 2, and if we required a sofa bed they would charge £25 for it. For an apartment that markets itself as a 4* I would expect the sofa bed to be free of charge, considering it would probably be in there already!!

Last thing as well, website needs updating, I found myself having to ring for basic information e.g. check in and check out. More comprehensive information definitely needed on website it lets itself down.

You cannot have everything in life they so they say..
This is a nice place , good location...Right at the Printworks...
Apartments are good clean , and have a welcome pack of bread and milk..there is tea and coffee in the kitchen area..
Bedrooms are comfortable and clean..
Here is the But... The noice from the Printworks , if you have an apartment which faces them , is loud...If you are wanting peace and quiet of a weekend , I would think about this place..
Carparking is just around the corner NCP £13.40 for the day
