I stayed for one night on a business trip. The hotel is very central (next to Piccadilly station) and has an inpressive entrace with friendly reception staff. My room - one up from basic - was interesting with the biggest bed I have ever seen in an hotel room!Comfortable though.
Utilitarian might be a good word to use to describe the decor with exposed shelving and lighting systems. Great 'tuck box' (at a price) and the usual complementary teas/coffees. Very poor lighting for working in the evening - well none really - and also poor lighting in the bathrooom for make up in the morning. Another gripe was the lack of TV channels - no Freeview even.
That said my evening meal in the cafe/bar was very good - marinated prawns followed by Italian lemon cake with raspberry ice cream. I would mark down for not providing a finger bowl for what was a messy main course. Breakfast was cooked to order - fine as it was quite but could be annoying on a busy day. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would return.More
