We stayed at the Abode for one night before travelling to London on the train. The location was perfect for Piccadilly station. The hotel is a beautiful building and the communal areas are very plush. Our room was a good size and the bed was very comfy. There was no noise from inside or outside the hotel and we had a good nights sleep. However, we found the room was looking quite tired with chipped paintwork in a few places, the bath had what looked like a burn mark in the bottom and the bathroom needed a proper clean as the tiles near the bath were dusty and the chrome towel rail was very dusty and had water splashes on it. We didn't eat in the hotel but we had some drinks in the cafe bar which were very nice. Again the cafe bar could have done with a dust around!!
We also went to the champagne bar for a drink which was really nice and like the public areas of the hotel was immaculate. The service was excellent and the cocktail waiter recommended drinks for us (which weren't the most expensive on the menu!) Unfortunately we had to leave too early the next morning to have breakfast. I got a deal on the room through hotels.com which was excellent value for money. Would stay again.

We stayed here a few weeks ago on a Satrurday night with our two daughters aged 5 and 8. The staff could not have been more helpful - there was a Nintendo Wii in the room so our girls thought it was the best hotel ever! We had a ski-jumping competition before dinner! Dinner was nice - we ate in the grill/cafe section which suited us just fine and was good value. Children's meals (great quality sausages BTW!) came with adults starters so no waiting around for them and we didnt remember to ask for this. Breakfast was superb and when one of our kids asked for a boiled egg it was no problem (despite not being on menu- or at least I did not see it) they even brought two - the waitress said she though my other little girl might change her mind when you saw her sister's egg - she did! Small things I know but it just made the short stay away from exciting for the kids and very personal. I would definitiely try the other Abode hotels. We liked the decor as we love things modern and simple - and our bed was very comfortable. I thought the rooms had been decorated thoughtfully and while they were not 100% perfect in the finish they were very good and the small touches like the chocolate bars (!) and nicely presented toiletries made it feel special. I would recommend it!

Stayed here on business. Literally a minute from Picadilly station. Big rooms, with wooden floors, spotlessly clean, massive beds with really soft bedding, good shower, big soft towels, good hair dryer, fresh coffee in room-lots of nice little touches. Didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening but had drinks in the bar and breakfast. Service was a bit slow but this hotel has a lovely ambiance- and does the best bacon baugette at brekkie that I've ever tasted.

Hotel location great for Manchester Piccadilly station and coach station, cannot comment if any on-site parking is available. Entrance and bar area are appealing and airy.
Booked a Desirable room which lived up to its name. Room was spacious if a little odd in shape to fit into the old warehouse shell that has been converted into the hotel. The extras that came with this class of room were very welcome and felt like a treat. Facilities and fittings were great.
The character of the old building was still apparent with the high ceilings and a fantastic tiled stairway to the restaurant in the basement. Micheal Caines @ Abode Manchester is a great restaurant, suitably pricey for the quality of dishes and wine served.
Breakfast was the only little bit of disappointment, perfectly acceptable but tasted a little perfumed, but this is pure pedantry on my part as I really couldn't find a fault with anything else.
It's a pity I live so close to this Abode as it's difficult to justify splashing out for the full experience when it's a fiver return on the train to visit the city. But as soon as I find an excuse for a special occasion I'll go back.

Great hotel , excellent value - we have stayed before and as always we got a very good spacious room. Apart from the extremely disappointing cocktails - how on earth can they advertise them as a speciality? Oh, and the extremely slow lift.
The food is very good value and they do a pleasant breakfast. Position by Picadiily Station is excellent and the staff`are very friendly and accommodating. Noticed almost everyone was staying on one floor - the third.
We have now stayed in almost every hotel in Manchester at this price level and above and this is our favourite as value for money.
