My mom and I stayed at Badgers Hall in May. It was exactly what we were hoping to find - quaint, cozy and comfortable. The owners are so friendly and welcoming. And the food - oh my goodness! Would love to stay there again in the future, and even if I don't stay, I'll definitely drive out of my way to have afternoon tea there.

Great host from start to finish, very attentive . Always plenty of tea on offer. Flavoursome sandwiches aswell as sausages, salmon, haddock, sausage roll , goats cheese quiche, butternut squash and pepper volevonts , beet root and cheese.

For pudding there was lemon posset, ginger and walnut fruit cake, choc moussee, sherry trifle, amoretti ice cream , scones.

Was so tasty and full of flavour. We was all stuffed so got to take home in doggy bag!! Can't wait to go again great place!
Highly recommend !

Couldn't have asked for a better Yee Olde England experience. The couple who run this place and their dog are what make it...although the dog did have a tendency with me to get a bit over friendly! The rooms are very comfortable and the dining room just under the rooms is lovely. Breakfast next morning was better than any 5* Hotel i have stayed in. it was cooked to order with locally sourced ingredients. Stated only one night but came away refreshed like we were away for a week!

Room Tip: we stayed in the first room ahead of you when you go up the stairs. Little bit of noise when the tea...

We arrived just after 3:30 pm and were shown to are room just above the tea room. The room was very spacious and homely, overlooking the main street and war memorial garden, we did like the carafe of sherry and wonderful homemade shortbread biscuits on the side table, very welcoming. We returned to the tearoom for our afternoon cream tea and, what a surprise greeted us the fruit scones were huge and with plenty of jam and clotted cream.

Our first nights sleep was rudely disturbed at 5 o'clock in the morning by the person living next door to the B&B above the Spar shop, you could hear every manner of sound emanating from their rooms, it rather ruin the tranquility of the Badgers Hall.

After spending a day walking, (Broadway Tower) we were again pleasantly surprised when arriving back at the B&B, Karen asked us if we would like our afternoon tea and cake in our room, Paul's homemade pear and lemon cake was wonderful with the added bonus of a couple of shortbread biscuits.

Karen asked if we were eating out and had we booked anywhere, we said we had decided on Micheal's the Greek restaurant across the the road, Karen phoned the restaurant on our behave and confirmed a booking.

Paul looks after the baking and cooking side, his breakfasts are second to none, all the items on the menu are locally sourced, or are delivered daily. The smoked haddock and poached eggs were out of this world, thank you Paul.

Karen and Paul run a remarkable establishment and we will be retuning, thank you both again.

Badgers Hall is well located, in the center of Chipping Campden across from the historic market hall. The B&B is a combination of tearoom, B&B and home to the proprietors and their dog. One must enter through the tearoom, somewhat awkward with luggage, as it is a small space. The tearoom doubles as breakfast room in the morning. Our room was on the uppermost floor and we were forewarned that it had low beams, so no surprise there. We were not forewarned that the other room on the floor did not have an en suite bathroom. The doors close noisily, so we were awakened every time our neighbor got up to use the facilities. Our bed was not particularly comfortable, especially the synthetic pillows, and the bathroom was inconvenient. As it is a historic building, the proprietors are probably restricted as to changes they are allowed to make yet the failure of having a mirror over the sink makes shaving a tricky proposition. I believe afternoon tea is included in the room rate but we were always out seeing the sights. I would not recommend a room on the top floor – other rooms may be more comfortable.

Room Tip: Do not stay on the uppermost floor.

Having been to the Cotswolds several times and stayed at different places, the best place we have stayed is by far the Badgers Hall at Chipping Camden, Karen and Paul who own Badgers Hall cannot do enough, from the time you walk through the front door. The afternoon teas and the choice of breakfast is second to none, the rooms are spacious airy and very comfortable. We will not stay anywhere else in the future, Badgers Hall is the place, in fact we are looking to go back in December. If one is going to stay in Chipping Camden book this venue early to avoid disappointment

Room Tip: All the rooms are great

"A traditional tea room and licensed eatery, Badgers Hall is owned by husband and wife, Paul and Karen. Interestingly, he's a former stone mason turned chef and she's a professional with experience in finance turned innkeeper/hostess.

One thing to know before going is that they do not accept debit or credit cards. They'll direct you to a cash machine in the center of town if you're a little short.

Stepping down into this cozy space dominated by a huge fireplace, more decorative than functional, feels like a step back in time. Heat and scents that make you want to inhale all the deeper, are provided by the AGA stove Paul keeps busy in the kitchen. In nice weather, try to get a seat on the friendly patio out back.

We had two top notch meals at the Hall while staying in Chipping Campden, lunch and high tea.

Lunch

My lunch choice was Soup and Sandwich (£10.95), an AGA baked and hand carved Ham Sandwich was served with a small, but chock full of veggies, garden salad and a wedge of probably the best granary bread I'd had in a long time. The carrot and coriander soup made with vegetable stock and thickened with potatoes and onions had a deep, rich flavor. Yum!

High Tea

"Tea on a Tier" is served every day at Badgers Hall. We were NOT disappointed in the two tiers of savory and sweet scones, cream, jam, brownies, cake, sandwiches and fruit. Portioned generously, we left with plenty for a shared snack later that evening.

Reservations are a good idea as they do get lots of walk-ins as well as bus tours.

Badgers Hall is also an Inn. Wonder what it would be like to smell all that goodness wafting up to the rooms above? I'd probably have sweet dreams every night!
