The hotel has a lovely spiral staircase. We had a great room with a huge extremley comfortable bed.All linen and towels were brilliant white, only tiny niggle although also white the robes were old and frayed. The service was excellant and breakfast very good.As for the spa it has a tiny pool with 10 beds and four chairs(we found that after cheak in people were hovering around looking for a seat,a bit dissapointing if your intensions were to come and relax.) there is also a steam room big enough for four people and thats it, unless you go for any treatments which are expensive.I would definatley go back to the hotel but not as a spa break

Dear JackJones8,

We appreciate your review and are thoroughly pleased you enjoyed your stay and the hotel.

The Spa, being of an award winning design and with a good reputation means that it is very popular with hotel guests and non residents alike. It is a shame therefore that you did not get the best experience from our spa.

Our treatments and products are exclusive with only 5 spas in the UK featuring the the house of La Sultane de Saba, one of the world premier spa ranges. Prices however do not reflect this exclusivity and are kept competitive in line with other local spas with more mainstream products. Therefore I assure you our prices genuinely do reflect value for money.

I do hope you will have another opportunity to join us in the future so you have the chance to experience the multi-award winning spa in its usual truly relaxing state.

Best wishes,

Michael and Team

We stayed here for 2 nights in August 2013. Although our room was one of the smaller in the main building it was very comfy and cosy and the bathroom was almost as big as the bedroom! We had booked a special offer package which was incredibly good value for money, including afternoon tea, dinner on first evening, breakfast, plus one mini spa treatment. The food was good. The staff very pleasant and helpful. The spa facilities were very good too - I had a wonderful massage from a very experienced therapist. The spa is located in a separate building a short walk through the garden from them hotel. The hotel offers some unusual cottage rooms with patios and hot tubs too but these are more pricey. The location is fab - Chipping Camden is a lovely little town. We had a tipple in several of the local pubs which were all very nice. There is an amazing shop selling all sorts of vintage ceramics just across the road from the hotel. Its an excellent location from which to explore the Cotswolds. Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: The garden cottages look very nice if you can afford them!

I was taken here for a Christmas present, and what a Christmas present it was. We stayed in one of the cottage rooms in the garden. It was like a suite with a massive bed, two big comfy chairs and a table where we enjoyed breakfast in our room one morning. Big bathroom with separate shower and bath. The Bath had a TV so you could watch and soak at the same time.
The steak we had in the grill was cooked perfectly, melted in the mouth and the champagne washed it down nicely.
Also well worth a trip to the spa for the pool and steam room to relax even if you aren’t having any treatments.
Chipping Campden is a such a nice and peaceful place, everyone we met was so nice and helpful.

Room Tip: Well worth paying the extra for one of the cottage room in the garden.

Dear Test_Richie,

We are very pleased to hear of your relaxing stay and even more pleased that we made your Christmas present a special one!

The new Head Chef, Mini Patel certainly does know how to cook a good steak amongst many other great dishes on the Grill and Fine Dining menu.

You kind comments are really appreciated by all of the team here at Cotswold House Hotel and I am sure the good folk of Chipping Campden will be delighted at the justifiably flattering reference to the town.

Best wishes,

Michael and Team

the localion is great in pretty town of chipping campden. dinner in Grill house was very good.Breakfast was not the best. Room was small and I would suggest less clutter in room to make it feel larger.Bathrooon very small but good quality large towels were a winner. Great staff !

Stayed here for a work conference in early December and the hotel is lovely. I had a nice room which I was happy with until I spoke to my colleague who were in all sorts of quirky places which included self contained cottages with open fires!

We stayed for the Curry Night which was a great show and well worth visiting for. The bar then stayed open well into the night and breakfast was delicious and well needed the next morning.

The only thing letting the place down was speed of service. On several occasions we were left waiting ages before we could get either drinks or food and this was in the ealrier stages of the evening and also at breakfast. If they can sort that out, then this place would be faultless!

As soon as we arrived, we knew we had made a good decision to start our tour of the Cotswolds at this hotel
The address: No 1 The Square says it all. Right slap bang in the middle of Historic Chipping Campden.....and a car park! ......and a lovely garden!
We were made welcome and told that we had been given a room upgrade - a good start already!
The room was just perfect, on the second floor with a large window looking right up the middle of their garden with views over the rooftops of Chipping Campden.
You could go for a cottage garden room if you like, as long as you don't mind the locals walking right past your window as they use the hotel's garden as a short cut into the town!
We had dinner in the Grill which was turning out some really good bistro style food effortlessly.
We'll be back sometime as long as we can stay in the same room, we have full English Breakfast in the room at a table beside the open window overlooking the garden - just like having our own little balcony!

Room Tip: Get a room on the second or third floor at the back of the hotel overlooking the garden.

Dear Flyingscotsman150,

I am glad to hear you enjoyed every aspect of your stay with us!

You will be pleased to know that the good food we served just got better with the arrival of our new Head Chef, Mini Patel. Now you have two reasons to join us again, one - English Breakfast on the balcony, two - Minis new menus (the Bistro style remains in the grill - just better) and actually three if you did not get top use the spa.

We hope to see you soon and fulfill our promises.

Best wishes,

Michael and Team

Booked direct and upgraded on arrival to cottage room in the garden. This was so pretty but we opted for room in the main house as almost no wifi/phone signal in the cottage. We were given a suite Room 15 with a gorgeous view and little balcony over the garden. Step down into a luxurious bathroom. Lovely room. We were impressed with Reception (Gareth) for attentive care and service. Thank you so much. Good touches - fresh milk in the fridge and turn down and freshen in the evening made this a really super overnight stay. Breakfast next morning was good with plenty of choice and great coffee. Very good spa - book in advance - with reasonable prices for lovely treatments. It's a walk down the pretty garden path - must be lovely in summer.

Room Tip: Rooms in main house do have good wi fi /phone signal if you need this. Room 15 had small balcony...
