“Race Night & Curry”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2013

Brilliant evening with great entertainment from the racing, caption competition and superb buffet curries which were delicious. All that for under £20! Fantastic please put on more evening like this, just what we need!

Room Tip: Local resident so have not had the pleasure of staying.

As well as being an extremely good local hotel, Cotswold House organised an extremely enjoyable "Race Night" recently to mark the end of Cheltenham week. It was competitively priced at just under £20 per head and as a result appealed to both Hotel Guests and Locals who all had a very enjoyable evening. Let's hope they lay on some similar events soon!

We attended a recent Race Night (celebrating the end of Cheltenham week) Tasty help yourself Curry Supper and great fun betting on the 5 races. I might have enjoyed it rather more than some others as I won on 4 races!! As a local resident it was good to have a not-too-expensive evening's entertainment. Would love some more like this please.

We stayed in room 18, a deluxe double which has a double ended bath in the room - lush! The room is set in the eaves with views over the Square and also the hills beyond. Tge lighting is wonderful, the bed comfy, the bath deep, and disco lights in the loo! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful - you feel that they are there to make your stay special, rather than just doing their job. We ate in the Grill - def recommend the rib eye steak, which is the best I've ever tasted! All in all a very relaxing stay. My only complaint was that the Spa was fully booked. I know we could have pre-booked but sometimes you just don't.know what you want to do until the day do you? Hey ho - still had a great weekend :-)

Room 18 , is one of our most popular rooms, (it’s a little unusual and not to everyone’s taste, but we love it and are delighted you did!) we look forward to welcoming you back again very soon, next time try one of our Hot Tub Suites, these come with your very own private garden and Hot Tub, the best price is always to be had by calling us direct.
NOTE TO OTHER TRIP ADVISOR READERS/ POTENTIAL FUTURE GUESTS, should you require Spa Treatments the spa does get booked up well in advance so to make the most of your stay do ask about the spa when calling to book your room.

We had a lovely two night stay here during this year's cheltenham week (Monday and Tuesday night). The staff were excellent very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and well presented, my only complaint is that it was bitterly cold the first night, maybe they had only just opened for the season? It did warm up overnight though. Breakfast was good with prompt friendly service, as was the night we ate in the Grill. Excellent steak and chips with a lovely bottle of red wine in front of a real fire. Would stay again

Room Tip: If going in winter/spring make sure the room is pre-heated for your arrival!

I booked the Cotswold House after buying a Groupon Voucher and I've stayed here before, both occasions it was for a spa break. This visit was super. The spa break was a treat for my best friend who had just found out she was pregnant. I upgraded to a junior suite but very pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the Sezincote Suite - a very nice room with a huge bath (Em compared it to being in an egg!) and our own patio which would be gorgeous in the spring/summer for tea outside. We arrived and had lunch before heading to the spa. I have been before and know it gets booked up so we'd booked treatments before, service was super and the pool still as lovely as a couple of years ago (a few places I've been look rather tired on a later return trip - not the case here). The treatments were excellent, very professional and pleasant staff. Maybe some magazines available around the pool would be nice. Dinner in the Grill was scrummy - especially good local steak yum yum. I slept like a brick (nice to not have a 2 year old interrupting a night's sleep). Breakkie was also very good and my friend was looked after very well with asking for random things to cope with her morning sickness! After more spa time we took in the Noel Arms (sister hotel across the road) for pub lunch - doorstep sarnie and chips, just the ticket before heading home.
All in all a very pleasant trip and I'll be back for more treatments and I'd like to try the restaurant one of these days. The staff should be commended for their quiet attentiveness in the grill and for creating a peaceful atmosphere in the spa (yummy sorbet by the way!).

Room Tip: The Sezincote suite was lovely and quiet and very nice to have our own front door!
