“Comfort, Location, and Atmosphere”

This was our fourth visit to Chipping Campden in ten years. We keep returning because of the history, the beauty of the town, the thatched roof cottages, the ability to walk in the countryside, and the way the Cotswolds has managed to keep their towns looking like they did hundreds of years ago. So when we visit, we'd prefer to stay in lodgings that reflect that air of comfort and beauty. Croftsbrook manages to do that, perhaps because the owner is an artist of some note in Britain. His lovely watercolors and wood cuttings are hanging in every room. The cottage is a large three bedroom, with a hallway separating the bedrooms on the second floor that is almost as big as the bedrooms! The living room is very cozy, and the kitchen extremely well equipped. Croftsbrook had one feature I found very rare when searching for a place to stay: a ground floor loo! My knees have deteriorated a bit over the past ten years, and it was very nice not to have to dash upstairs every time nature called.

The owner, David is very personable and responsive. If he's not available, the tenant occupying a wing of the house is able to help out. The location is perfect, with just enough distance from town to work off the good dinners at places like the Lygon Arms, Eight Bells, and Michaels. And although there isn't a large Supermarket in town, the Co-op and One Stop are surprisingly well stocked. We were at Croftsbrook for two weeks without a car and managed just fine.

“Lovely location and welcoming owner”
Reviewed June 10, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We stayed at Croftsbrook for May half term. The cottage location was ideal for our family; just a 5-10 minute stroll into Chipping Campden and all of the lovely amenities.

David, the owner, was extremely welcoming and helpful. He could not have been more accommodating. The cottage had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable.

This cottage is not a place to stay if you seek a minimalist and modern home; but a well loved cottage, with beautiful painting on the walls by the owner and plentiful of books and some games for the children.

Thank you David for your recommendations during the week and for your caring approach (cutting the thorns off the rose bushes so that my children would not scratch themselves & and posting back my son's harmonica).

We hope to return again in the future.

“Charming stay in beautiful Cotswolds”
Reviewed May 30, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Croftsbrook was perfect for our group of two couples. Each roomy and comfortable bedroom was in a separate wing. There were an abundance of supplies and a well equipped kitchen. Our favorite room had an electric fire that made us cozy warn in minutes. Especially nice were the original art pieces on the walls by our host which gave the place a private home feel. The location was ideal: a short walk into town to the pub or shops, a half hour from Stratford upon Avon, and easy distance to other Cotswold beauty spots.

“Not up to expectations.”

We were disappointed in "Croftsbrook". We moved to another location. There were numerous requirements in every room on note cards, for how things should be operated. There were none of the items provided by similarly priced accommodations. The towels were skimpy and rough. the hand soap and other items of that nature were used and almost empty. The kitchen had many problems and had a bad odor. While the owner was a very nice gentleman and a good artist, we felt the property was not as advertised by the description or pictures.

Croftsbrook strictly conforms to all the requirements of the UK Tourist Authority for 4-star self- catering holiday cottage status.
Croftsbrook recently passed on every count the annual rigorous inspection made by Visit England Quality in Tourism on 22nd March 2016 and its received certificate of 4-star for 2016 is displayed in the cottage.
The owners of Croftsbrook are proud of this record and are extremely conscientious about maintaining the standards. They pay attention to all comments made by guests.
According to contract it is really only fair for any guests’ complaints to be made during their occupation of the cottage so that the complaints can be acted upon immediately.
The owners are fully committed to receiving any complaints kindly and helpfully and to attending to them as quickly as possible.
