Conveniently situated in a lovely village, we chose this hotel for a two night break in the Cotswolds. We used Tesco vouchers and had to pay £150 per night rather than the £90 if we had booked direct with the hotel. Our room was small, though adequate - but certainly not worth anywhere near £150. As the room was on the ground floor, overlooking the car park, the windows could not be left open and although a fan was provided, the room was airless and uncomfortably warm. The grouting in the bathroom was mildewed and the paintwork chipped. The security lock on the back door to the building was broken so security in the night was compromised.
The breakfast and the one bar meal we had was good, though after seeing a waitress pet a dog in the bar area and then continue with her work without washing her hands we ate elsewhere the following evening. As mentioned by other guests, a service charge is automatically added to your food and drinks bill - although the drinks were ordered and collected by ourselves from the bar.More
