“Lovely food”
Reviewed March 13, 2013 via mobile

Went here with a deal from travel zoo. Not sure I would want to pay full price, but the pub is lovely, service was good although a little slow. Food really excellent. Would return for a special occasion but some meals priced too high for a casual lunch/dinner.

“Nice Night Out”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

My wife and I went out for a nice simple dinner last week at the Seagrave Arms. We brought a Living Social vocher which gave us a starter, main and a glass of bubbly. This really was a bargin!
If you didnt know the area it was quite difficult to find especially if you think you know the area. If you are going from cheltenham then dont to chippen campden first, it could be a long detour. However the quality of the food was very good, the service unintrusive. The place was very cosy and gave an impression of a nice family run business.
I can certainly recommned this place.

“Not worth a revisit”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

Oh dear, what a shame! We decided to eat at this restaurant after (mainly) good reports but were totally underwhelmed by the experience and three stars is generous. The restaurant was not particularly busy when we arrived and had our order taken quite quickly but then had to wait a long time for it to be served. The food itself was not very good; the pork was more or less tasteless, only being redeemed by the mustard sauce. Venison casserole OK but some parts were dry and the mash cold. Serving a whole leaf of kale as a vegetable made it difficult to cut and eat! Another long wait for the sweets that were nothing special. Overall disappointing and the rooms had little or no ambiance. Will not return.

“Friendly welcome, lovely ambience and good food”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

We had dinner here on 8th February. We found the whole experience very pleasurable and would definitely recommend it. My partner had the pork and, unlike the previous reviewer, his was meaty and the skin crisp, I had confit of duck which was tender, moist and very tasty. The portions are generous and sensibly priced. Even though it was not busy there was a warm and friendly atmosphere.

“Bad restaurant experience”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

The hotel itself is clean and beautifully decorated. However the restaurant is not up to the same standard- if you are looking for good food and service then you should AVOID. The menu - with a lot of emphasis on locally sourced products- seemed promising, however when the food arrived it was a different story. For the main course I ordered pork belly, and I received a tiny amount of meat and huge amount of inedible fat, which was not crispy in the slightest. For the price of around £15, that is simply unacceptable. When the waitress was asked why this had been served, she replied that she didn't know and left the room. Furthermore the portions are VERY small.

On the night the restaurant was very busy, and it clear the staff can't handle large parties. Drinks orders were forgotten about, long waits between courses etc... And the staff seemed defensive when faced with our worries about the food.

Overall the service was poor and the food was average, will not be returning.
