“Beautiful House run by a lovely couple”

Ann & Robert are fantastic hosts who made me feel incredibly welcome, simple things like a proper cup of tea on arrival makes a change from the usual hotel stays I have. They also generously let me use the WiFi and lounge brought me free refreshments even after check out time.
The room was spotlessly clean and a the two most important things a very comfortable bed and a great shower. Breakfast is definitely worth having to.
Ann & Robert have got Throapham house just right and I will stay again when working in the area.

Our decision to stay at Throapham House was based entirely on it's proximity to an event we were attending but, wow!, were we pleasantly surprised. Ann and Robert are attentive but discreet hosts who made us feel relaxed and welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room and ensuite bathroom were not only spotlessly clean but also very spacious, and decorated and furnished to a very high standard. The attention to detail in the little extras provided gratis such as Wifi, fresh fruit, bottled water, quality toiletries, plush towelling robes and slippers and the kind of snack items that would cost you dear from the minibar of a large hotel as well as the expected tea and coffee making facilities make this a delightful place to stay. A beautiful guest lounge with huge flat screen TV offers guests an additional space to relax and unwind should their room somehow prove claustrophobic! Breakfast is of a very high standard and plentiful with a wide range of choice which should suit even the fussiest of eater. We recieved an email from Ann the day we left to let us know we had left some shampoo behind (we hadn't even noticed at that point) and would we like it posted to us? Our answer was no but, bravo to Ann and to Robert for their fabulous level of service. We will definitely stay again, and this time because of the place and the hosts, not the location.

A warm welcome from Ann and Robert and a spacious and comfortable room. The coffee and home made lemon cake was very nice on arrival also. There was a nice selection of in room refreshments such as fruit, biscuits and drinks not found elsewhere. The free wifi in room was very useful also. The breakfast was first class with an excellent choice of cooked and continetal choices! A very pleasant experience.

We stayed for 1 night to break a journey on the a1 and were made to feel very welcome by Ann and Robert. Our room was very spacious and clean with lots of little extras; & we were given home-made cake and tea upon arrival. The house itself is very appealing and there is a very comfortable guest lounge. There was a varied menu for breakfast and everything was very fresh and well presented. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Room Tip: We stayed in 'Hale' which is located at the front of the house. A very large room with good...

A refreshing comforting resting place. We were made to feel most welcome and the afternoon Tea and home made cake on arrival was just what we needed after our journey.
The bedroom was extremely comfortable and our bed was ideal! most snug bed we have slept in on our travels.
Breakfast again was a delightful experience the food was delicious, well presented and served with genuine pride.
Our only suggestions to improve the already great reviews would be to have gentle music at breakfast and perhaps a daily newspaper.

Room Tip: our room was north east and a little chilly.

It felt just like at home, Ann and Rob are very welcoming and their cooking is excellent. I would definitely use again. Very fast wi-fi internet available in the room. The only downside was my bathroom that felt a little bit cold but overall I had a great time.
