Recently attended my grandsons Christening Day here, the carvery was very tasty. Unfortunately since the childrens play area was taken out it is not a place to take young ones as there is nothing for them other than the grassed area.

Thank Sandra L

This has been our local pub/restaurant for many years and it has had its ups and downs to say the least... Currently its:----

TWO for £10 or £7.99 / £8.99 each ( £10.49 for the 21 day aged 8oz TOP RUMP steak which DOES NOT not really make sense) However....
WHAT do expect for around £20 for a family of 4 or £10 for a couple - That's £5 per meal eating out... How much is a McDonalds etc.....
The Pub / eating area is very well decorated, its clean and family friendly - there is a nice garden /play area and a really pleasant undercover patio area - This is probably the best its been for the past 20 years.

The staff are very helpful and friendly and everything considered - they do an excellent job.

So if this is what you want then its a GREAT PLACE and GOOD VALUE.
HOWEVER..... PLEASE READ THE MENU and understand what you are ordering -before complaining or being disappointed .
I don't say its the best place but its certainly not the worst in the area.
READ THE ABOVE and GIVE IT A TRY - then see if you agree

PS: Its also DOG Friendly (only outside) ............

Summer's evening and decided to try a local place. Good play area for the children, nice and secure as others have said. Decor and outside seating areas are impressive. Service at the point of ordering was very good although a few mix ups with who was eating what. Sauces for food have to be asked for separately and amazingly tartare sauce attracts an extra cost even when to accompany scampi!! It is your typical 'chain' food and I suspect much of it reheated/microwaved. The 2 for £10 on many dishes is a 'pull' but overall the food was a bare average. Nice place for a drink on a summer's evening with the family though.

Beautifully decorated throughout, extremely friendly staff..and the food....OH EMM GEEEE................absolutely gorgeous and 2 for £10??? fab-u-lous...and so much choice!! . I noticed they have a secure and very well equipped outdoor play area for the children..adjacent to an extensive, undercover outdoor eating area....and, which is very rare today, excellent facilities for the disabled amongst us (taking Mum for Sunday lunch this week and the lack of steps at the entrance will be very much appreciated) The Carvery is, to the best of my knowledge only available on a Sunday...........we will definitely be making the most of this lovely place for the foreseeable future!!

A large pub on the main Doncaster road ideally situated, large car park and garden, kids play area.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Service excellent in comfortable surroundings.
I was with my son, on his birthday, also the ex-dragon and friends. A table had been reserved and also balloons provided. A nice touch.
Out of the nine of us customers, I was the only one who was not satisfied with the main course of Chicken and chips. The Chicken obviously had been pre-cooked and reheated because it was very dry.
It is definitely a family pub and the food is value for money, but a little more thought should go into the preparation of the food.
