We went here for a friend's 50th birthday celebrations, and while it was brilliant hooking up with old friends, the evening was made very special with the quality of the food and the atmosphere, which for a Wednesday night was excellent!
Starters were large and inexpensive, and the free bread and houmous that also came was fantastic. The spicy salsa was spectacularly hot. The chicken skewer and piri piri chicken breasts that myself and my wife had were beautifully cooked and very tasty. Side dishes appeared to be the same on everybody's plate, salad and wheat rice, but there were other options available to order separately. The rice and salad, however, was more than enough for us.
We didn't have room for dessert, but the list looked good. Staff were very friendly and very attentive, even to the point of dancing with the birthday girl to Zorba the Greek!
Great value for money and the free shots of sambucca and schnapps at the end appeared to be never-ending. The bottles were just left on the tables and we were told to help ourselves! Unfortunately some of us were driving and couldn't indulge, but I was very grateful of that when my alarm went off for work the following morning at 0530!
£40 for starters, mains and drinks for two? Can't complain at the value either. Great night. Apparently at weekends the place is packed to the rafters and there's a belly dancer too! May have to experience that. Booking recommended at weekends.
