Happened upon this place by chance and the array of buildings is unbelievable. The staff were very knowledgable and willing to talk but considering we went on the first day of the summer holidays they didn't seem fully staffed. Certainly somewhere I would love to visit again but it lacks the special magic of Beamish!

What a fabulous place to visit - so well thought out and so much history from the place where I was born and bred! They even have my old infants school there too! There was a 40's event on this weekend which me and my friend visited but even without that, the place is so interesting! Try the wonderful fish and chips from Hobbs which was originally in New Street, Dudley - it has been restored to its full glory with the lovely ceramic tiles, also the Bottle and Glass for a pint of real ale! There is still things for the little ones too, the old fairground with hook a duck and lots of old fashioned rides. And don't forget a ride on the trolley bus! Also, if you gift aid when you pay, you can re-visit as many times as you want during the year FREE! Please visit and support this wonderful attraction, its a piece of living history and makes you proud to be from the Black Country!

Had an amazing time, wish we had given ourselves longer there as there was definitely more to see and do. The Victorian Playground is great fun and the staff around the site are informative. Everything is displayed well in all the shops and houses and really gives you a good idea of what it would have been like to live there. The only small criticism is that it is not clear what times the demonstrations or shows are for example chain making and the silent cinema so they are easy to miss. Overall a fantastic day out.

We had friends visiting from Wales for the weekend and we took them for the Forties Day on Saturday, we all thoroughly enjoyed it, it was great to see the shows and all the different uniforms, we even chatted to the Queen and Duke! Really do reccomend this venue for an interesting and fun day out.

Good day out especially if you are interested in history, enough to do for the whole day, I did find the drinks and snacks very expensive. One word of warning, if you suffer from back problems be aware that you have to spend some time in a bent position while in the mine due to the low roof, there are no warnings about this before you enter.
