Stayed here on a Friday night to break up a journey from Manchester to the South Coast for a weekend away.
For the rate we paid £40 we could not fault the room which was comfortable and clean.
Check in staff were helpful.
However having traveled down straight from work we wanted some dinner. There was a restaurant in the hotel but it was virtually empty with no atmosphere.
The hotel was a little too far to walk into town on a cold Friday night.
The taxi cost £5 going and £4 coming back but to be honest we wished we had not bothered. We struggled to find a restaurant in Dudley and the town was very quiet.
There is a Village Hotel and a Toby carvery pub across the road from the hotel and with hindsight we wished we had chosen to eat / drink at one of those.
We got back to the hotel at 11.10 pm and went into the bar where there was karaoke in full swing. Even though we were residents they would not serve us with a drink although there seemed to be a fair few local people in there whose glasses looked full. This seemed strange but the atmosphere / noise was not pleasant in any case so we simply went to bed.
Breakfast was included in the rate and was served buffet style with cereals, juice, cooked eggs, bacon, tomatoes, toast etc. Could not fault the breakfast / service.
There was a large Tesco accross the road which was great for filling the car up with cheaper petrol before heading off onto the motorway.
In summary I could not fault the price we paid (laterooms.com), the room or breakfast but did not like the bar and was not taken with Dudley. A convenient place to stopover and break a journey but would not use the hotel for anything else.
