“Great Base For The Lakes and Dales”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

Excellent stay at this Premier Inn. Staff were friendly and very helpful, even recommending places to visit. Stayed for a 4 night midweek break. Hotel is located off the main road into Lancaster, but even though we had a front facing room their was little if any noise when the window was closed. The is a free flowing cold air unit on the wall (not quite air con) but this did keep the room nice and cool if perhaps a little noisy. The hotel is up to the usual Premier Inn standard, large comfortable beds, airy & bright rooms, functional bathroom with additional shower. Breakfast was buffet type in the restaurant next door. One point on this is that it is very popular in the evenings so you need to book a table in advance for an evening meal. All in all though a great stay.

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground floor are family rooms.

The room was extremely clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. They provided advice on places to visit in the local area and always seemed happy.Hotel lovely and quiet and the windows seemed to do a great job with the traffic noise. As stated in a previous review the only thing I could see wrong with the room was small holes in the blackout curtains. I would however say this is me being picky and definitely did not affect our stay. Would visit again.

Stayed here overnight with my husband to meet family who live locally. Everything about our stay was excellent from start to finish. Without exception all the staff were professional, smiling and courteous. We ate in the adjoining restaurant in the evening and had a very good meal inexpensively priced. The service was excellent and we were well looked after - as we were the following morning at breakfast where there was a comprehensive range of both hot and cold food, with as much as you want to eat - we didn't need lunch that day!

Our room was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful. I bought Wi-Fi at £3 for 24 hours which is much cheaper than a lot of other hotel chains. I asked for more milk and sugar and this was provided immediately. I got a very good deal on the room price (Sunday night special in June) so suffice to say we left the following morning two very happy customers!

Room Tip: Our room was on the first floor at the front and well soundproofed so no noise from the nearby road...

We (husband and I) stayed at this Premier Inn for one night the 7th June, as a stop-over on our way to the Lake District and after visiting Quarry Bank Mill on the way.

Reception staff were friendly at check-in and I asked for more tea, coffee, sugars and milks as there are never enough left in the rooms (all Premier Inns are the same and I always have to ask), especially the milks which you need 2 of in each drink you make. The receptionists said that lots of people say the same and I said I’ve filled our numerous surveys stating this but nothing ever changes! I’ll just have to keep on asking for extra before I go up to the room.

The room was of the usual high Premier Inn standard and design with everything clean and comfortable.

We only had one real issue with the room – we stayed in Room 36 – and that was that the people above seemed to be walking around a lot; we could hear their footsteps. It may well be that the room is immediately below a corridor and hence it seemed like the occupants of the room were walking around but if not the floor is not very well insulated and those people must have had very restless legs! Luckily this did not persist during the night so had a good night’s sleep except was woken up by some noisy people outside the hotel being quite loud but this didn’t last for long and you can’t blame Premier Inn for that. We did have the window open as it was quite a warm night. We could not hear any noise from the surrounding roads.

The Brewers Fayre next door is good for dinner and breakfast with the usual Brewers Fayre menu, nothing fancy but good food.

We would certainly stay at this Premier Inn again if we needed a room in the area.

We have stayed in this Premier Inn on a few other occasions as the location suits our needs when visiting family and friends in Lancaster and The Lake District.

The welcome on arrival by the receptionist was the usual great Premier Inn friendly encounter and check in was a smooth, quick process, having pre-booked and paid some months ago.

The room was as expected but on this occasion it was noted that the blackout curtains in our room needed replacing as they were past their sell buy date as they were full of holes. Apart from this our stay was relaxing and quiet without any disturbances, despite the hotel being really full due to the half-term holidays.

Will continue to stay again as long as the standards remain as we expect.

A lovely clean hotel, we had a family room which was quite spacious, compared to other places we've stayed. Helpful, friendly staff & a great restaurant with a childrens play area. Had a great menu & "meal deals" we got 4 adult meals for £20 which were delicious, followed by 4 deserts for £4, in total £24 for a 2 course dinner,( deal ends at 6.30). Like the hotel, the restaurant was spotlessly clean & the staff were friendly & helpful.
The hotel is situated on a business park next to a busy road, but there was no issue with noise at all & our room was situated on the ground floor adjacent to the road.
