“England's last great wilderness.”
Review of Trough of Bowland

The Trough of Bowland and the area of The Forest od Bowland is probably the last great wild area in England. Most people tend to drive up the M6 to the Lakes and only notice those large lumps of hill on the right as they speed past. More fool them. If you drive off up the Trough of Bowland you'll find an area of large rolling hills, dark peat moorland and steep valleys. With waterfalls and rivers cutting through, it is truly a great place. Walkers and hikers will find enough to keep themselves occupied for days. Discover somewhere new but do beware of the peat bogs.

I was somewhat hesitant in rating this one as it would be a shame if it became too popular. Beautiful countryside and walks- highly recommended

It was a very windy , rainy , muddy day but this just added more fun to our walk . A fantastic afternoon out for all ages and in any weather. You can make your walks as long or as short as you like . So if your a family with children small or big , a couple on a romantic walk , or just walking the dog then pack up a picnic and have a very cheap but fun afternoon out .
There is also a tearoom which is welcome on the cold rainy days :)
