The Trough of Bowland and the area of The Forest od Bowland is probably the last great wild area in England. Most people tend to drive up the M6 to the Lakes and only notice those large lumps of hill on the right as they speed past. More fool them. If you drive off up the Trough of Bowland you'll find an area of large rolling hills, dark peat moorland and steep valleys. With waterfalls and rivers cutting through, it is truly a great place. Walkers and hikers will find enough to keep themselves occupied for days. Discover somewhere new but do beware of the peat bogs.
