We stayed here during the Eeaster holidays, using the hotel as a base for visiting the Lake District. Our bedroom was spacious, and the staff even put in an extra bed for our teenage son who was not keen on sharing a bed with his sister! The room still had plenty of space and was spotlessly clean. The staff at this hotel are all wonderful, polite, professional and go out there way to help. As I had a liitle bit of paperwork to do and the guest computers were out of order, I was allowed to use a business pc . (Thanks so much for that, my reports got in on time!). We stayed on a Bed, Breakfast and Evening meal deal, which was very cost effective and the food choice very good. Something for everyone. We used the pool, needs a bit of work, but the children loved it. Special mention must go to the reception staff who kept an eye on our children after an accident with an electric bike, cycling round the Lakes resulted in a fall, a trip to Lancaster A & E and a broken wrist! We all had a fab time and hopefully will revisit later this year.

Had a three night break in Lancaster staying at this hotel. The hotel is a £5/£6 taxi trip to centre of Lancaster. Our room was large , clean , and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Menu was standard fayre for this type of hotel - not very adventurous. Breakfast is rather expensive at £13.95

Stayed for two nights with my husband as a birthday weekend away.
Check in - On arrival at 1.30 pm we were informed that check was not until 2pm (this was also clearly stated on the paperwork and website). The male receptionist (don't know his name) apologised about the room not being ready and took us to the bar for a drink on the house! He did not have to do this and could have just informed us about the 2pm ruling but it was very much appreciated by us.
Room - the room had a double bed, large sofa, armchair and a large flat screen TV, It was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. A choice of firm or soft pillows and a comfortable bed
The bathroom - was equally as clean and really nice.
Breakfast - we paid for the breakfast option and could not complain as the food was really nice, especially the sausages, We didn't eat in the hotel at night as we wanted to get out and about. We did try the Brewer's Fayre over the road from the hotel but could not recommend that.
The staff - everyone was extremely helpful and pleasant.
The location - ideal location as it is just off the M6 and it was a £5 taxi ride into Lancaster city centre. Ideal location for Morecambe, Kirkby Lonsdale etc.
To summarise: Lovely hotel, room and staff.
My only negative comment would be that the seating in the bar area was not comfortable and we may have lingered in there longer if there had been comfortable chairs/sofas. Perhaps the hotel has lost bar money as a result?

I'm here with a group of work colleagues and I'm able to report that this particular Holiday Inn is old and worn out. I regularly stay in Holiday Inns...this particular hotel obviously didn't get the memo.
No fridge in room, the safe doesn't work, no ice machine in the hall and no business centre. Internet is also something like 16 pounds sterling per day.
They've painted the place...I know because I can see the paint drips around the door handle to my room.
You can put lipstick on a pig, but a pig is still a pig.
Is this place conveniently located to the motorway? Yes...

Stayed here prior to watching football match at nearby Morecambe. Very close to M6 which was great. The hotel from an external point of view looks tired. But the negatives stop there. The room(standard double) was clean and a very spacious bathroom which was spotless. We didn't use the spa facilities as time was limited, but it looked great. We booked the dinner/bed and breakfast rate(£18 allowance per person for evening meal). The food was lovely and very freshly prepared. Drinks are a little expensive. The beds where so comfortable and a choice of pillows was a good touch. Breakfast was extensive in choice, had my daughter stayed with us I have no doubt she would have used the automatic pancake machine for breakfast. To be fair we left very happy and will return whenever Torquay United play Morecambe next season. The staff where ever so friendly, which is always a sign of a well run hotel.

My wife, 2 daughters & myself, stayed here between Christmas & New Year 2012. It is a very nice hotel with ample parking and not too expensive. We never dined there even for breakfast as we found it to be a little expensive. We made use of the swimming pool. The changing room attendant was very nice and eager to help, as where all the rest of the staff. There is a bus stop right outside, although we used Taxis. We walked into Lancaster city centre first but this proved to be a little far. All in all a nice stay.

We got an incredibly cheap deal through Superbreak for myself husband and 2 teenage children. the room was not that spacious even though it was described as an executive room - however for the incredibly cheap price we paid - I'm certainly not going to complain. We also got a free evening meal included and that was pleasant enough, though had i dined here off the "break " it seemed quite expensive. The breakfasts were very good and although the hotel seemed full there were lots of staff on so when things ran out they were replenished quickly.
We used the pool which looked a tad tired looking but was fine for a swim with the kids.
We were astonished at how expensive the WiFi was - I think they quoted £16 for a day - so we all went without.
This hotel is very well placed for getting around - very close to the motorway, easy to get into town, to the Lakes and the Trough of Bowland is just the other side the motorway Junction.

Room Tip: We had a room over looking the car park and you could hear the road noise but not that much. you mig...

Dear Clare004

I am surprised that the size of your room fell below your expectations; normally our guests comment on our rooms being spacious, particularly some of the family rooms that can accommodate upto 6 people sharing. However, I am delighted that you felt your stay was excellent value for money and I do hope you will stay with us again soon.
