“A great find”

Friendly service, relaxed atmosphere, good food and beer and very reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit. Will be back if we visit the area again.

“Fabulous food and excellent friendly service”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

I have eaten several times recently here and the food is always freshly cooked and throughly delicious; served in healthy portions - even the smaller meals like the yummy doorstop sandwiches with lush chips. And the salad garnishes are actually a proper lovely little salad with dressing (as opposed to other establishments' pathetic attempt of a tiny pile of limp lettuce and half a cucumber slice us poor customers are regularly subjected to!). The bar staff are just lovely too - happy, friendly, witty and helpful - nothing is too much trouble (my Mother was given a sample of each of the bitters so she could choose her favourite half pint! It was so nice and made her feel very well looked after!). They have a good range of beers on offer that are served well (what I mean to say is that they know how to keep/serve beer properly - I am stunned at how many pubs don't!) - that's obviously an important point to make. I will be definitely going back - a lot!

“Great place !”
Reviewed April 23, 2013 via mobile

A great pub just around the corner from where I work. Staff are always happy and polite. Food excellent. Fish finger sandwiches sold which I love and despite it being listed as a snack so to speak its a meal in itself. Always on freshly baked bread and comes with handcut chips and salad. A real little feast.

“Overcooked food but nice service”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

We arrived at 5.30 for Sunday lunch - 30 min before food stopped. This may be an excuse then for some of the food being hard and dried out. The potatoes were clearly several hours old and rock hard. It wasn't great to pay full price for a sub quality meal.

“Quirky but great atmosphere”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

I was recommended this place by the hotel owner that I was staying in. Upon my arrival the bartender was very comical and sharp witted and very entertaining. The food that I ordered (the lamb burger) was excellent and very well cooked.

The place was a bit quirky but I felt that just added to the atmosphere. I will definitely be back!
