“Lovely setting”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

Our family stayed here to go to a wedding. It looked promising as we drove up, peaceful and scenic.

The lady that booked us in was great, very helpful and cheerful. In fact, all the the staff we dealt with over the two days were fine.

The rooms weren't huge but clean and modern. I would say that, whatever that prickly stuff in the pillows is, it needs to be disposed of straight away.

Food (breakfast) was a disappointment. There is a lot on offer, including a variety of smoothies, but the quality wasn't great. I like fresh orange juice in the morning, unfortunately the kind on offer here was awful. I seem to remember many years ago, when proper fruit juice wasn't in vogue, there was a powdered orange juice drink, and this was what it tasted like. Not acceptable when pure juice is so cheap nowadays.

The buffet breakfast items were dried out, but I suppose that is the danger of buffets. Don't get me wrong, I cleared my plate but I wouldn't have been happy had I paid £13 for it. At least on a B & B basis, you don't really take notice of the poor value.

I can't comment on the quality of the restaurant food, although it did seem on the expensive side (£13 for fish and chips). The bar was expensive as well.

In summary though, no really serious complaints and the facilities were good, including a gym and spa at no additional cost, and free coffee machines dotted round so there were endless cappachinos, hot chocolates and lattes on tap. Internally the place isn't exactly warm and inviting, but I suppose it is primarily a conference centre. A bit clinical and not somewhere you would take someone for a romantic getaway. But it does the job at a reaonable price and I would happily stay here on my own if I needed to be in the area again.

Thank you for taking the time to review our venue Stevemal, and for giving us your rating. The reception team will be very pleased to hear your comments, as will the broader team. I’m very pleased that you appreciated the refreshments we have ‘on tap’ throughout the day and evening.

I’ve spoken to our Chef regarding your comments around breakfast, and can assure you that our juice is fresh and delivered so each morning, but apologise for your breakfast selection being seemingly dry. We do try to ensure that a fresh selection is available throughout service.

I hope you do return very soon, and have the opportunity to take dinner in our Lawns restaurant.

Fabulous welcome from Tish to start off an excellent stay! Very reasonable priced and excellent value for money. Good sized room and check in was informative and efficient. Room was spacious and comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. After a long tiring day we decided on a quick drink at the bar followed by dinner in the restaurant. Quick service and reasonably priced food and drink. Stephan looked after us really well and the lamb kebab and fish and chips were excellent. Can recommend the very reasonably priced Pinot Grigio. The Free coffee from a bean to cup machine was a real bonus in the lounge area and rounded off the evening nicely.
Next morning a early visits to the gym certainly got us off to a good start. The gym has ample equipment and a really good mix with chilled water etc

Breakfast was a really great selection and the attentive Stephan and team were always on hand to top up tea and coffee. The smoothies were a real treat.

Check out very efficient with great onward directions.

The spa bath used the previous evening before dinner was brilliant really warm and very relaxing.

All in all a great venue and would certainly recommend. Great value a warm welcome and service - a real find and we will certainly return.

My husband & I stayed here for a birthday night out with friends.

The hotel manager & staff was very nice and friendly and was able to accommodate us with a requested later check out in the morning. This was very handy.

The rooms had a wonderful view. First room we went into we had to be moved from as bathroom had a few problems. However once moved we were very happy with the room. Fans where provided and with having a heat wave this summer it came very in hand.

We didn’t eat in the hotel so can’t comment on the food.

The hotel called us a taxi as we had a reservation. This worked perfectly.

Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Stayed here on business. Did just the job good location but easy reach into town. Room clean but bathroom a bit tired. Breakfast was great with smoothies and a good selection. Gym was good too, well equipped. This would make a nice overnighter en route to the cotswolds. I was at the Warwick races the next day, it was about 20mins away. Would recommend.

The Woodland Grange is exceptional value. We had 2 super rooms, newly refurbished with everything we needed: large comfy bed, flat screen tv, dimming spot lights, tea, coffee, hot choc, 2 bottles of water every day, biscuits, gleaming bathroom with power shower and bath, big white fluffy towels, lots of wardrobe & hanging space, desk, comfy chair, bedside tables, free wifi, large room fan, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, bath salts, shower gel, soap, shower cap, face cloth. It is very hot outside but our rooms are nice and cool. Breakfast is excellent, it really is, with lots to choose from and lots of alternatives to suit everyone...delicious smoothies, berries, fruit, cereals, yummy bread for toast, freshly cooked sausages, my husband particularly likes the bacon, hash browns, tasty mushrooms, scrambled eggs, sunny side up eggs, yoghurt, fruit juices...you can just help yourself. All day there is coffee available in the lounge areas and fancy biscuits, pastries, fruit and juices...fabulous! The staff could not be more helpful, nothing is too much trouble and Tish was particularly wonderful...thanks Tish you are indeed an asset! We have very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel...it is so handy for everything: Stratford, Warwick, the town centre and we really loved Hatton and the magical village delights there...well worth a visit to spend a day. The week has passed too quickly, but it has been great and we couldn't have had better weather, or anywhere better to stay, of that we are sure.

Room Tip: All rooms on the first floor are refurbed to an excellent standard...rooms on the third have king/do...

Aly8135, what a stunning review and rating, thank you so much for all of your feedback. We’re all so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us, and I’m sure Tish will be overwhelmed by your comments. The last phase of our two part refurbishment program will be complete on the 13th of September, with the completion of our third floor bedrooms. That’s 72 bedrooms upgraded this year, with 42 more to come early next. We hope you return to view the other floors, as we have tried to make them a little different from each other.
