“Daughter's wedding and extended stay”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

Our daughter Caroline, choose Mallory Court because a few years earlier I celebrated a golden birthday in the restaurant and she said she would love to return for her wedding. After visiting many of the wedding fares around Stratford upon Avon there was only one hotel that reached all hers'and her fiancés' criteria and that was Mallory Court . Mallory Court did not let's us down. i will never forget when our wedding party left Mallory Court the staff stood outside ,It reminded me of a scene from Downton Abbey . We had exclusive use of the hotel on the 24 th August 20013 it was absolutely fantastic . The staff were wonderful and I would like to thank all the staff for making Caroline's and Ian's day outstaning and their guests . My husband and I live in Abu Dahbi and were out with some of our friends who joined us at the wedding and they all commented that it was the best wedding they had ever been to and one lady said it was better than her own wedding . Most of the hotels in Abu Dhbi are 5 star and above Mallory Court deserves a 5 star country hotel rating.
Following the wedding my husband and I stayed on this was just fabulous from my bedroom I watched chefs picking herbs from the garden, it could have been a scene from a cookery program. Our room was beautiful with a lovely little court yard, wonderful, we really did not want to go back to the Middle East This hotel is a gem locked away in South Warwickshire countryside.

We were amazed at our stay. Had the Snowshill suite. Used Mallory Court as a base for National Trust house hopping. Room was comfortable, quiet and all the amenities. Only comment = upgrade the shower head. Separate toilet from bathroom a plus! Breakfast with all the cold and hot entries from a full English breakfast. Good sausages. Dinner was wonderful. We played with the menu over two nights - doing the 7 course and madking a four course. Each night was to perfection across all dishes. Basing for National Trust properties worked as we were able to hit 5 properties in two days. Service is as expected for Relas Chateaux - 5 star. Nice garden areas. Recommend staying in the main house over the annex. Wine list is good. Try the champage in front of the fireplace. Public areas are smart and comfortable representing the property. There is a 30's style pool on the property as well. Have a coop arrangement with gym/pool a few miles away. Easy access from the M-40. Close to Warwick if you want to go into town. A special place.

Room Tip: Get a larger room and use the specials they have.

Stayed twice recently. Both times a very enjoyable experience. Expensive, but plenty of attention to detail, a lovely oasis in an otherwise hectic world! Good food, attentive staff and fantastically comfortable rooms. Would certainly recommend.

Booked for a retirement dinner last night for 4, were well served during the dinner, excellent wine choice, not cheap, but good quality, nothing too challenging for the chefs on the menu though, they could look to introduce one or two more innovative dishes. I over induldged on the wine, so could drive and they did me a great deal on a suite. The suite was really attractive and tastefully decorated etc, but was looking a little tired in a few places, dirty bathroom, chipped paintwork, etc. Wouldnt take much to get this 100% right and justify fully the relatively high prices. Breakfast the next day was very good. Yes I would stay again if the rooms were the right price.

Celebrated my wife's 50th Birthday in the Eden Room with a party of 27 guests, of which 11 stayed over. The first thing to say is that the main hotel and surrounding grounds are simply beautiful, sitting outside for pre-dinner drinks on the terrace overlooking the stunning gardens with the lovely lavenders was a real treat, the food itself was as you would expect from a Michelin star restaurant and the service standard was equally good, a special mention here must go to Dominic one of the French Managers who was charming, very helpful and had an excellent manner. Our party also enjoyed a lovely private breakfast the next day in another delightful room in the main hotel. While we all thoroughly enjoyed this lovely hotel, we were however let down by some of the bedrooms in the newer part of the hotel. Our own room was very cramped and you could barely swing a cat in the bathroom. Also disappointing in a hotel like this not to have either air conditioning or a safety box and generally the furnishings were not in keeping with the older part of the hotel and for these reasons i could not quite bring myself to give an excellent rating. however no doubts the main hotel is exquisite

Room Tip: Avoid room 9 in the Kings Suite, worth paying extra to go in the main hotel where the rooms are more...

I should learn that last minute booking isnt ideal for small country hotels. Guess how frustrated I was to hear the couple check-in in front of me to have a table booked in the Michelin star restaurant and £15 off their lunch the next day. We on the other hand were banished to the 'brasserie' for dinner and not even a 'hows your father' of an offer.

The hotel itself is nice, room was small but well appointed. There is no gym but free access to a rather fancy local gym which is a 5 minute drive. The grounds are beautiful although at night there is no lighting so you cannot stroll around the grounds come nightfall.

We were really disappointed by the evening meal. The hotel restaurant was fully booked (large party leaving only 6 tables for guests) so we sat in the brasserie which was advertised as relaxed and contemporary. It had an air of an early 90s conference centre, uncomfortable and very much second class to the main hotel.

Breakfast was thankfully in the main restaurant.

Would i go again? Probably not. Its odd going to a country house hotel and not benefiting from the hotel itself for dinner. We did know at time of booking but were still disappointed. We did say on check-out but weren't greeted with much sympathy from the staff.

Live and learn.

Room Tip: Not far from Lemmington Spa. If offered rooms in the modern extension - I'd keep looking...

This beautiful little hotel is on it's own but still about 15 minutes to charming town of Warwick or Stratford. Most of the grounds were blooming and beautiful. The service was excellent. We stayed in the main building. Our room was small but nicely appointed. Bed and pillows were not great.
