2 of us went for a shared tapas lunch and loved it! The staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was really tasty and the decor of the place is weird but still tasteful. The meatballs were definitely the stand out dish, though it was all very good.

Great decor, eccentric and gorgeous, specially the downstairs dining room. Friendly and good food, lovely beside the canal.

Went more for the open mic on a Friday night but enjoyed some very nice tapas at 3 for £11. Four of us shared 9 of these. Food is served downstairs with the bar at ground level. Very little seating room in the bar so be prepared to stand if its busy. Really good atmosphere with the music - nice crowd!

I originally went to The Grand Union for my 18th birthday with my family and fell in love with the place! In more recent months I have been visiting more regularly for their open mic/live music evenings on Friday nights. The bar area upstairs is always very popular on these evenings and the entertainment is always of high standard. The food is wonderful- particularly the Tapas selection which is ideal for sharing (the portions are HUGE!). Great value. Very romantic "shabby-chic" style restaurant and relaxed bar with friendly and attentice staff. Ideal for hazy summer evenings on their water-front outdoor seating area too. Highly recommended.

I recently held a 25th wedding anniversary for my parents here and couldn't of picked a better venue. They went out of their way to make the day special, sourcing a brilliant musician and being helpful in every way. The atmosphere was great, with polite staff and delicious food... The chocolate Tart was incredible. It's the perfect place for a get together of any size. Will definitely be returning again soon!
