Saw a trailer on BBC Televison. Never heard of it so it was time to visit. Went to see "Cats" the film version which the critics thought terrible but I though it was brilliant. Now the cinema. Looks lovely from outside - nice little old fashioned doors and inside bright and cheerful with the most lovely young staff with a huge greeting. Into a small restaurant / cafe area for a super coffee and mince pie. Toilets really good - I always check it says a lot about a place. Then into the lovely cinema - not that old fashioned but has old fashioned seats which were amazingly comfortable and some double seats at the back !!! MMMM very naughty. Lovely and comfortable with "Pearl and Dean" adverts and an "Intermission" remeber those and it comes complete with an ice cream lady. Then stand if you want for the National Anthem. That was new!! The film was excellent and dont panic it is digital and the quality is excellent as is the sound which I think is better than my local Odeon. Loved it lovely people great place - Support them.

Under new ownership for about a year and there have been some improvements- i.e. you can now book online and there is a choice of films through the week with early eve showings as well as the standard. However...
its still quirky, tea is served in mugs, we stand -up before the film when they play the national anthem and the seats are hard!
If all that doesn't put you off then try it.
They also have live shows but i have been to one yet.

What a cosy, welcoming characterful cinema! Took son to see a screening of a kids ballet and he loved it so much he cried when we had to leave! Amazing community resource for Longridge - there seem to be lots of lovely regular events here. Would definitely recommend!

This is such a gem of a cinema. Really old fashioned, cozy and welcoming.

Took four of my young grandchildren to watch DUMBO yesterday evening (13th April, 5pm).

They were slightly disappointed with the length of time the ads and trailers were on, and were constantly asking me when the film was going to start. They were very confused too, the fact that they had to stand up for the National Anthem, something that I don’t think children these days have even heard of, unfortunately.

The blow up booster cushions for my youngest two grandsons were very welcomed, handed to us by a friendly member of staff. Thank you. Such a good idea for younger kids.

Film was great, prices of admission so much cheaper than the bigger venues.
Definitely recommend.

My drink of hot chocolate in a proper mug (not plastic or polystyrene) was delicious .

Food and drink available in foyer. Ice cream during intervals is brought round the cinema on a tray, just like the old days

Will be keeping a look out for more films to take the kids to at The Palace.

Lots on offer in this old cinema. It has a bygone feel but offers all sorts. Coffee and cake/ice cream/sweets/good beer. They are working on being sustainable with ideas such as free squash for kids if you bring a suitable cup. They use volunteers and have a film/book club providing community with a great social hub. I enjoy a yoga class held there. And of course the film program is an interesting mix of new releases, classics and locally produced films.
