“A little jewel in Preston's crown...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2013

Trying to satisfy a group of 8 table tennis players is hard enough at the best of times - let alone taking a punt on a restaurant none of us had heard of!

All I can say is we booked late, got a table for 8 and had a superb night out with great atmosphere and excellent food. Not a moan from anyone, and are definitely looking to come back when staying over again.

Mind the Slovakian shot though ;o)

“Average”

Food is not really worth it, besides having to choose a different course twice because they didn't have the ingredients, the dish I was served wasn't what I expected. Do not order the red wine and onios sauce with your steak, the onions are raw and the sauce itself is too liquid, you'd be better served if you order Diane sauce, is more rich and creammy. Good bread selection and coffee!
Nice atmosphere
I'd like some chips with the steak instead of the three roasted baby potatoes...

“very good and interesting food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

This is a small restaurant with Turkish food. It was busy and service was very friendly but quite slow. The food was very good for a city with a limited choice of restaurants. Would definitely eat here again. Not outstanding but tasty freshly cooked and good value food .

“Brilliant!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013

My wife and I visited early evening before gig at Guild Hall on Saturday night. We were the first in, but within minutes it soon filled up. The staff were very friendly. It's a quirky building and has a great atmosphere. Food was good value, although the portions could have been a bit bigger, but it wasn't too much of a big deal.

We would certainly visit again and take the kids too. There's an early bird deal available which seemed a popular choice with diners.

They did seem a little overwhelmed by the amount of people arriving at the same time and could have done with some more staff; after we finished our main courses we still weren't offered sweets or coffees after about 15 mins, but it didn't spoil the meal as we could see they were busy and if we had had time to wait they would have got to us eventually!!

“hidden gem in Preston”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

This is a hidden gem in a city that doesn't have much in the way of a restaurant culture. It's hidden away round the back of the premier inn in a beautiful building with exposed beams and a mezzanine level. The food is a mix of Italian and traditional Turkish. The staff were very friendly, especially the smiley waitress and the manager Nico, who came and charmed the guests.

Portions were massive, and very reasonably priced. I had grilled halloumi salad for starter, and a lamb stew with aubergine for main. The complementary flatbread tasted fresh out of the oven. Really nice and interesting meal. I had Turkish beer to accompany it. Only downside was that they don't make their own desserts - the dessert menu just showed pictures of standard frozen cakes: it would have been good to have some traditional turkish sweets or cake.

Highly recommended - would come again.
