I have been here many times to eat, since it was launched as a restaurant and can't fault anything about it.
All of the staff members are friendly and attentive.
The food is delicious, definitely my favourite place to eat for pub food.
The desserts are amazing!
I wish I could eat here everyday!!

“Superb!”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

We decided to visit the Guild Merchant earlier this year, as we live fairly close by and had heard great things about it. What a wonderful experience we had! The food was delicious, with a good variety of choice, the dirnks were reasonably priced and it was a bonus that the food that we ordered was on a 2 for 1 offer on main meals. The staff are what makes this an exceptional place, they are friendly and attentive and always served us with a smile. A great expereince, we will definitely return again!

“Great Food, Service and Staff”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

This was the first time (26/01/2013) me and my hausband have been to the Guild Merchant and have to say that we were impressed. Ordered the Garlic Bread Selection to start, Farmhouse Pie and Hawaiian Gammon for the main course and Afternoon Tea Cheesecake for dessert. it was all nice and we enjoyed each course.

What made the trip a bit different from the usual pub grub was that you ordered from your table and was well looked after throughout, even placing further drink orders. Do have to say that they have excellent staff who are a credit to the pub.

Not forgetting that the main courses were buy one get one free (they also did the desserts on this as well for us), so all in all an enjoyable meal at a bargain price.

Would definately return and recommend.

“Great food and service”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

Me and my family decided to try the guild merchant for my sisters birthday meal. Our waitress Laura was very friendly and was efficient in taking our order, and bringing our food. All the food we had was of a high standard and clearly cooked fresh to order. It was also not the usual covered in melted cheese that you tend to find on a lot of 2 for 1 pub menu's. When the bill arrived it was little over £50 for starters, mains, desserts and drinks for 4 people. I would definitely go back again and I would recommend it to other people.

“The Staff Excel”
Reviewed December 29, 2012

On a recent visit to Preston, it was recommended we try "The Guild Merchant" and we were very impressed with what we got.
The staff could show many of the expensive restuarants on how to treat their customers.
The food was well presented, good quality, and most of all really good value.
The pub is modern with a nice atmosphere and kept clean with a hygeine rating of 5/5
