The drive to Bowland Wild Boar Park is lovely.

We went on a lovely sunny autumn day and after looking at the website and the selection of animals, we expected a fun, busy, interesting day out.

We paid £30 + for 4 adults and one child, which was ok, but with hindsight, I think was not good value for money.

The whole place feels a bit ‘tired’ and a bit underwhelming.

We saw a pig in a pen, some lambs, a parrot, ferrets, meerkats, al pacas, wallabies, goats, oh and of course some wild boars. There were no staff about and everything was a bit spread out.

There were some walks highlighted on the information sheet that we received that I am sure would have been really nice, but we didn’t try these as we had a little 3 year old child with us.

We were able to purchase food to feed the animals which was nice. The place advertised tractor rides and bucket rides at particular times but these did not seem to happen.

We took our grandchild into the play area which looked pretty good at first sight, but this also was quite ‘tired’ and in need of sprucing up a bit. There was one slide that had a big drop to the floor and although this was cushioned with wood chips, it could have caused pain to a small child falling off the end of it.

We visited the shop on our way out which advertises wild boar products, but there was nothing fresh, just frozen cuts, burgers and sausages which were quite pricey, so we did not buy anything.

It was ok, but I would not bother returning.

This is a place we visit once a year as we always ave an enjoyable day. This time our kids were 5 and 2 years old.

We saw a great variety of animals and also had the opportunity to get up close for lamb feeding and chick stroking. The animals all appeared well cared for and we liked the new reptile area.

It was a very hot day, so we opted to get out of the sun over lunch and enjoyed a tasty wild boar burger whilst bird watching from the window.

For the first time we did the tractor trailer ride out to the edges of the park where there were buffalo we had not seen before. The kids loved the bumping about on the ride. Our older daughter also had a go on the barrel ride - but the little one will have to wait until next time as he was still a bit young.

The walk around the wild boars was lovely and peaceful, with a good look at the baby boars. The playground and tractors were also a big hit. By far the best fun was the hay barn, where hay bales have been piled up to make tunnels to go through and climb over. Be prepared to come home with hay everywhere!

We spent the whole day at the park and didn’t have time for everything on offer. We may return in the Winter this year as they usually have a visit from Santa and his reindeer in December.

We’ve passed the signs for this place many times but never managed to get there. A fab weekend planned with lots and friends and their children it seemed the ideal choice, fabulously it didn’t disappoint. The children loved exploring and seeing all the animals. The stretch of legs around the outside (enclosed) area was just what they needed to burn some energy off.
We took a picnic which was encouraged even though they had a lovely cafe...which we also ate and drank from. We saved the best till last before leaving and that was the ice cream....wow, probably one of the best ice creams we’ve ever had, loads of choice, good sized portions and very well priced.
We will definitely return on the future.

Went with High 5 which is a group that supports Less Able Children and their families and this was a day to remember. There was always an activity that suited them and no where was inaccessible so very highly recommended.

Good way to pass a few hours with the kids. Animal feeding and petting.
Signage could do with improving.

Visited with our 4 yr daughter who enjoyed it, not the best day out we've had, but also not the worst. Thought the entrance fee was a bit overpriced and the cafe wasn't very clean.

Just back from the Bat talk/walk. What a good night. Enjoyed by all. Mum, dad, 13 and 7 year old boys. Good talk which was interesting and informative and aimed at the wide age range there. Nice walk despite the earlier down pour and we heard lots of bats and saw a few too. My 7 year old says can we do it again next weekend?

Great for everyone, if wet Welles are the order of the day. Children enjoy the animals and when we went there the children were supervised holding little chicks. Take a picnic with you, that is ideal, there is a small shop etc

My husband wanted to come here to see the wild boar.
He used a tramper to get around, a sort of mobility scooter, which was ideal for him.
We enjoyed following the trails and seeing meerkats as well as the wild boar.
Very nicely laid out, brilliant staff. Good cup of tea in the cafe.
It was full of school trips, so if you want peace and quiet leave it till after the holidays.

Plenty to keep a child entertained, from tractor ride to playground and animals. The cafe was clean and the coffee hot!
