“Wonderful/outstanding”
Reviewed January 3, 2016 for a stay in December 2015

Booked this last minute as had an appointment in the area. From booking it was clear that Sue and Terry run this very professionally, replying promptly to email questions and my phone calls asking for local information. Not only are they professional and approachable but they are extremely friendly. We live overseas so we had planned to have our traditional Christmas dinner here with family. On arrival to Mole End (fantastic clear directions provided by email) at the early part of December, we were so really surprised to see a real Christmas tree awaiting us - thoughtful or what? Even trimmings for the tree at the side. Terry advised me on meeting him, that his daughter would be around later to dress the tree if we wanted BUT they thought as our son was joining us we may prefer to dress the tree together as a family . Well that made me choke back as I never dreamed someone would ever do or even think this - that's proof that Sue and Terry are genuinely lovely thoughtful, family orientated people - thank you both so much. The cottage was everything we hoped and more, it was gorgeous. Finished to a very high standard. There was wood for the fire and a full supply just to the side of the cottage - you could have literally had a fire all day every day.. Tea, coffee, tin foil, bin bags, washing up liquid and tablets to name a few of the many items in the cottage for our use. The aga had cookery books to support you and Terry gave us a darn good demonstration of what to do. We then get the most beautiful, humongous home baked cake from Sue, don't be surprised if you see Sue alongside Mary Berry at some point - it was exceptional. The cottage is located in a beautiful area with gorgeous view, the deer in the field was awesome too. We felt completely rested here it was so peaceful. The website cannot give you the real beauty of this home it really can't.. I suggest if you expect excellent quality, genuinely lovely owners that are available at the drop of a hat if you have a query about the area or anything, then I can't recommend this highly enough. We hope to come back again as when you've found heaven why look for anything else as we don't want to be disappointed. Sue also offered for us to have a supermarket delivery to arrive before we came, we didn't as I wanted to shop in person, I would suggest to take Sue's offer on this as once you're in the cottage you won't want to leave. If we hadn't of had a plane to catch Sue and Terry may have found 'visitors' out staying their booking as we did NOT want to leave. Thank you Sue and Terry for going that extra mile for us without us asking and for having such a gorgeous high quality home to let family get together and have a wonderful break.

“Loved our stay!”
Reviewed June 26, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We spent a week at Mole End Cottage and it was fantastic! Terry and Sue were very kind and helpful, and the cottage is beautiful and top quality. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and scenic countryside, but were close enough to make day trips to Preston and the Lake District. The kids loved the playground and tennis court, and especially the homemade cake left for our arrival! I highly recommend this for a stay in the area, and it would be a great place for an extended family or group, as there are other (even bigger) cottages.

“Lovely Break”
Reviewed September 9, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We had a great week staying in Mole End - the cottage was very comfortable with underfloor heating and a lovely Mark Wilkinson kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the showers great - couldn't even use them on full as they were so powerful. Terry and Sue we're so helpful with a lovely homemade cake on our arrival and bringing their daughters pony round for our 2 daughters to ride on as well as their gorgeous dogs - I think the girls would have taken Maggie the beagle/pug cross home if they could! The girls collected eggs from the chicken coop which was such a novelty for city kids.
