Premier Inn has got to be the best value
for money in the UK. This place is no exception. I had a quite room on the 5th floor after asking for it. Things to watch. It is difficult to find at the end of a dead-end; get instructions before you leave the post code is not enough. The car park is fine but it is easier to pay by phone or on the net. Food good, staff fine.

I've stayed with Premier Inn a couple of times but this was my first time staying at the Preston one, which is a bit more modern than some of their others.

I stayed in a double room, which was a bit on the small side but not uncomfortably so. Room, bed and bathroom were all very clean. Bed was comfortable, the view - well, not the best, but it is slap-bang in the city centre. Which brings me to the location - very convenient! I had to get a train at 5 a.m. and the station was only about a 5 minute walk away. Bus station is also not far away, as well as Fishergate centre and other shops. Noise level (in and outside hotel) at the time of my stay was minimal but it was November and very late - might be different at peak times. The price can vary considerably, but in advance or out-of-season can be very reasonable.

In the room there was heating/air-con, tea & coffee (bit on the sparse side but better than none!), soap, towels, a hairdryer, phone, decent t.v, power outlets, and a variety of lighting options! What you don't get is free Wi-Fi, which I hope they will change at some point.

I enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

Recently stayed at the premier inn central with my family. I found the location excellent, you stepped out of the hotel round the corner and your in the heart of Preston town centre. The staff were very friendly and we were checked in by entering our surname into a little computer(of which they had several) this printed your room number and gave you the key cards only took seconds. We had breakfast on both mornings and found it very nice plenty to eat and the chef was more than happy to make my husband an omelette. The rooms were a good size and were spotless all in all a very nice hotel

We chose this hotel to be a short walk from the railway station for an excursion trip. Parking is not in the hotel grounds but an independant carpark is a short walk away. Loading/unloading can be done directly outside the hotel on double yellow lines.

After booking this hotel several months ago we we surprised and disappointed to be allocated a disabled room (321). We had already heard the receptionist tell another guest the hotel was full (we used the automatic check in facility) so thought no point in asking for a change of room. The bed was low making it difficult for my wife who has a bad back as was the sink in the bathroom. There was no bath, just a wet room shower which meant water everywhere after the shower. The room seemed to have a smell, like someone had used a strong disinfectant prior to arriving.
With being the first room on the room on the corridor, you could hear people coming through the corridor door as it opened and shut as they went to their room. The front of the hotel is opposite a taxi company and there was a lot of noise through the night as people waited for taxis.
Next time we will request a normal room away from the front of the hotel on the 5th floor

Room Tip: ask for the 5th floor away from the front of the hotel

Thank you for taking time to post a review about our hotel. i would first like to say how sorry i am that you didnt enjoy your stay with us and if you would like to contact the hotel directly we will arrange a refund under the Good night guarantee. Unfortunatley if the hotel is busy we allocate our disabled rooms to guests to satisfy demand and some of these rooms come with wet rooms but you can always switch rooms if possible with the reception team. With regards to the noise from the taxis outside we are currently looking at various options to reduce the noise and will be implementing these throughout the new year. Once again im very sorry you didnt get a good nights sleep and hope you will contact us so we can issue your refund.
Regards
Sharon Donlon

Stayed two nights to attend a Paul Carrack concert in Guild hall. Very impressed overall with staff, room & restaurant/bar. Staff went out of their way to help, even printing out boarding pass on departure free & despite problems with Flybe web page, the staff persevered & succeeded. I will gladly stay again!

Another pleasant, peaceful night in a Premier Inn. Did everything you expect of Premier Inn. Booked a couple of months ahead in order to ensure accommodation when going to a music show. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Room was clean and tidy and comfortable. Minor niggle only 1 tea bag and 1 hand towel - not enough for 2 guests. I was too tired to ask for more even though I knew we would get more - my problem not Premier Inn's
