This was just a delight from start to finish - once we found it!
Missed the hotel sign first time through the village and anyway it is at the exit not the entrance.
First impression is always vital and this was very good - grounds clean and tidy and car park well marked.
Even better impression was the warm and cheerful welcome from the receptionist who was friendly and very efficient.
We had two single rooms well furnished and with very comfortable beds.
Despit a reception going on we never heard any noise at night.
an excellent idea was the availability of fresh milk for a nice cuppa - so much better than UHT.
The Walled Garden bistro served excelent food at a very reasonable price and the service matched the rest of the staff.
Breakfast was superb in quality ( eggs benedict was brilliant) and the staff could not have been nicer.
I can not recall a more enjoyable visit to a british hotel foe more years than I care to remember.
I just wish this Company owned every hotel I stayed at.
DO NOT MISS IT!

Stayed here for my niece's hen do and them again a few weeks later for her wedding. It is absolutely spotless and obviously not a chain establishment - the staff really care and have the autonomy to make things right e.g my 8 year old was upset because he didn't like his wedding meal and was quickly and discretely brought some chips from the other restaurant.

The rooms are a mixed bag - all very comfortable and clean don't get me wrong but some are more classic aka 1980s than others. The rooms in the original part of the building are stunning. Great breakfast.

In the past when in this area I have always stayed at the Marriott. However, Barton Grange is better in some ways - staff, atmosphere, Walled Garden restaurant but as for most people nowadays, it will come down to price and BG can be quite a bit pricier without a deal. 100% recommended though.

Booked in on a business trip for one night. The staff were pleasant, helpfull and well mannered. The room was well sized, comfortable and very clean. One towel is not really enough but the bathroom was spotless. I had a meal in the bistro bar with four collegues and the food was excellent as was the breakfast next morning - all singularly cooked not in a baine marie. We had a few drinks in the walled garden and had an early night - the bed was very comfortable = all in all worth staying = very nice hotel.

Room Tip: They have two rooms with single beds = personally would avoid

Yesterday I went to my best friend's wedding here and I felt I had to say something about it as Barton grange are that good.

We had drinks in the secret garden to begin with and it was lovely. The staff were attentive and were not stingy with the top ups and what not. When we had the meal the food was gorgeous. Normally I find wedding food a bit samey but here is of a high standard like you would get when you go out on your own. Again the staff were fantastic and they did not hold back with the wine top ups at all.

I have to mention the guy who acts as the event manager, master of ceremonies and entertainment. He was fantastic. He did a few funny games and cracked jokes in between speeches etc and really added to the day.

The rooms were nice, the breakfast was delicious the next day.

I am getting married myself this year at bartle hall and I have been to a lot of weddings recently at other venues but I have to say this place is right up there. It was the best wedding I have been to and ran flawlessly thanks to them. It is a very high quality 4 star hotel.

Thanks Barton grange for a great day!

hubby and I have been to this hotel a number of times before for various things but have never stayed over. We were at a charity event close by and decided to stay so that we could let our hair down and have a glass of wine or three or four!!!!! Check in was quick and efficient and we were helped to our room with the bags. Our room was warm, clean and spacious. There was plenty of choice for breakfast in the morning with the staff being very friendly and helpful and we were asked at least a couple of times if we wanted more coffee, toast etc. We didn't use any of the leisure facilities so cannot comment on them. The overall feel of the place is friendly, clean and spacious. It is set back from a main road and a car would be needed for any sightseeing. We have had meals here previously and found the food and service to be good. Definitely would stay here overnight again

We stayed one night as a stop over between Portmeirion and the North East. It's not far off the M6.
We stayed in the Garden House, which is a house near the entrance of the car park separate from the main hotel building. However what a splendid surprise we got as we entered the rooms, they were clean, spacious and had great facilities. We had a trouser press and iron, safe inside the wardrobe, huge bathroom with shower above the bath, mini-bar (expensive), fresh bottle of milk to have with our coffee/tea and there was plenty of seating and lights.
An evening meal allowance of £18.50 was included in our Friday night DBB rate of £54 per person and we also got a bottle of wine in our room. Though we did spend more on our meal the food was of a high standard and well worth the money.
There are excellent leisure facilities as well, including a pool, sauna and jacuzzi and gym.
Excellent value, would certainly recommend this.

Room Tip: Ask for the Garden House if possible

The hotel and rooms are terrific. The staff went out of their war to ensure that we had everything that was required. They even went into the kitchen and pulled something together for us for breakfast after the breakfast time was closed. Not too much in the area to do or see so a car would be needed.

Room Tip: Check out the Garden House, it is just across the parking lot but you have a great amount of privacy...
