I dined here on 29/03 and was impressed. The staff were really friendly and attentive, and the food came out quickly considering we ordered 7 dishes (between 4 of us, and it was the perfect amount!). The food was super fresh and tasty; the prices might be slightly higher than average but it is so worth it for the quality and atmosphere of the Pond!

After looking at the website i can honestly say we were looking forward to enjoying a good tapas meal with a good atmosphere. The place itself is simple but effective as a tapas style place but the overall experience was very disappointing. the waitress who first served us appeared untrained and to young, after ordering a good bottle of wine it was just put in the middle of the table already opened and not even a chance to taste. to the credit of who i assume was the manager she quickly changed the bottle and was apologetic. The platter starter was well presented and good value for money although just a little too much cheese and not enough Serrano or chorizo. The main courses were not as good with the peruvian stew a little tasteless and not spicy as described on the menu, the thai green veg also lacked any real depth or taste, however the fillet with Stilton was excellent. again they let themselves down with the empty plates on the table sat there for 20 minutes whilst we waited for coffee. to finish off we ordered a white coffee and an irish coffee which i can honestly say was just like hot water with cream and again lacked any taste or evidence of both whisky or coffee. again to be fair the lady manager was very professional and offered to change or take off the bill. It is a shame but like in anything first impressions are so important and unfortunately the night got off to a bad start and continued to go down hill. .we will give it another chance as anywhere can have a bad night so hopefully next time we will not be disappointed

Myself and myvhusband have been here on a number of occassions . We love the food, atmosphere the overall dining experience. Reasonable priced to I think. My only fault which I wrote in a comment box whilst there was sitting couples next to big loud groups of people..., very annoying when your out with yoir husband.

I adore the food served at Pond and admit it is in my top 3 places to eat. However, after a recent Saturday night visit found the quality of food a little poorer than usual and the staff unable to cope. It is always a disappointment to feel like a tip has not been 'justified' and therefore we decided to leave a very meagre one :(
In my experience it is best to visit during the day when the food appears cooked fresh to order and you would hope the staff have more time for their customers.

booked online and had a reservation conformation email for friday at 8:15, arrived to find out this wasnt booked in, showed to a table in the corner.

initially the waitress was great and really polite. however this was the only instance we really saw anyone. sat for 20 minutes with an empty wineglass trying to make eye contact wth staff to get another drink, when we finally got the attention of the waitress we were told our food wouldnt be long (this wasnt even the issue) we wanted a drink however was offerd a wine on the house as an apology.
recieved our main tapas dished but the empty starter dishes were never removed from the table.
Dont get the marinated olives. They wern't fresh and clearly out of a jar they tasted like plastic.
Food was ok, the moroccan lamb was lovely. The Patas bravas was a massive let down of reheated potatoes that were turning to mush and the calamari was rubbery.

Asked for the bill at the end of the night only to never get one and had to go to the bar and pay as our taxi was waiting outside.

needless to say this was a very disapointing visit after we had been recomended this restuaruant by a friend saying it was lovely.
