“Hmmmmmm.....”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

We opted to eat here based on previous enjoyable experiences. Unfortunately, this latest visit may well have been our last.
The price of glasses of wine is not clearly displayed on the menu. A glass is priced at £3.50 however when you order this you are asked if you would like large or small - obviously large! - you end up with a glass costing £7! At no place in the restaurant is this displayed. Contrary to the information on the menu, there is only one draught beer available costing £4.50. You will also be charged £1 for a glass of tap water!!
Food prices are similar to that of any other Italian restaurant, however some starters failed to arrive and the garlic bread wasn't completly cooked.
As I always order a pizza in an Italian, I rarely have problems and I didn't on this occasion, however others in the party received undercooked pizzas or miniscule steaks costing well over £20 served only with chips - where was the veg?
Desserts weren't purchased on this occasion due to us providing our own cake owing to the nature of the occasion. This was brought out as requested however no plates, serviettes or pastry forks!
The handwritten, difficult to decipher bill arrived, complete with all items we hadn't received. This was queries and they were removed, however it was felt that the bill was presented in such a way in order to deceive.

“Nothing special”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

I like the layout of this restaurant and it has a good atmosphere. The service is good and friendly. My main concerns are the lack of choice in respect of the drinks, only one draught beer which is £4.50 a pint, dearer than some quality chain hotels and unjustified for a venue like this. Similarly the wine is very expensive. The food is ok, my chicken livers were luke warm and the accompanying salad limp and certainly not fresh; the quantity was pitiful given the price of nearly £7. I had a pizza which was absolutely average, soggy base and just a few slices of salami and again struggled to justify its £9.50 price tag. I would not rush back here and would not particularly recommend it although it does have some good things going for it.

“Excellent meal”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

I visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening on a Travel Zoo voucher.
The place was very quite with only 3 other couples in when we arrived, but the restaurant is quite big. We were greeted by the waiter/owner?? and had a bottle of excellent house wine whilst looking over the menu.
Our mushroom starter was excellent, in a lovely creamy cheese sauce. We also ordered a chilli garlic bread. Wow! Instead of the usual spoonful of chilli tomato sauce this one screamed "fresh" and was laden with tiny slithers of red and green chilli.
We were concerned that it may have have been so hot that it would take away the taste of the main couse pasta dish. This was not the case at all. The pasta was cooked perfectly "al dente" and in a lovely creamy tomato sauce. We didn't have sweets but cappuchino coffees finished off an excellent meal.
This restaurant is only a few miles from where we live and I had never been before but will certainly be going again!
