This is the second time we have stayed in this town and this great compact house.
Tewkesbury is a lovely historic town, a little off the tourist trail, but close to the Malverns and the many scenic Cotswold villages.
This house is well fitted out for a comfortable stay, perfect for a couple but with two bedrooms and two TVs, a family could manage pretty well.
Lovely to look out from each level of the house over the water and the Severn Ham to the Malvern Hills, and to walk a few minutes to the high street where there is a selection of pubs and restaurants to choose from.
Alex the owner is readily available by phone if necessary. On arrival there are basic provisions of bread, eggs, butter and milk, and non basic (bottle of bubbly!)
We arrived to glorious sunshine and were able to take full advantage of the fabulous patio and sumptuous chairs, enjoying a bottle of wine, taking in the river views. What more could you ask for.
Sadly the weather deteriorated whilst we were there but the whole house was so warm and welcoming and had everything a couple could need. To add to our welcome was a starter pack, which we made good use of. There was copious hot water and towels and the whole place was so comfortable. The added bonus was a dedicated parking space. And because we went out most days, it was wonderful to not have to worry about parking on our return. We also did walks around Tewkesbury, of which there are many. Its such a lovely place to visit.
We will certainly book a week next year and hope for better weather.
We arrived at Wharf house in freezing temperatures the coldest for many years and found the house lovely and warm. We stayed for a week and only used the car once. We thought Tewkesbury was a lovely unspoilt town with lots to do. We walked on the Ham with our dog and she loved it even in the snow. The house has everything you need and Alex has put a lot of thought into her visitors comfort, including the very acceptable bottle of bubbles and other supplies.
My daughter my dad and I and our dog just spent a lovely week over Xmas at the warf house, the house is warm and cosy loved the log burner only problem was there was no glass door on it but it still worked great, the views from the house are beautiful and we enjoyed taking the dog walks on the riverfront, the owner Alex couldn't be nicer we had trouble finding a taxi the morning we left to the train station so Alex kindly took us all, thank you so much we had a lovely time in your beautiful home.
We had a great week at Wharf House. Great location, lovely clean house with everything we needed, food pack in fridge was very welcoming. Lots of places to eat so didn't need the car in the evenings. Small negative settee was little low and uncomfortable.
