Went to meet a business contact who was staying at the hotel. It is a very convenient location, close to the M5 and M50, and the public areas are good for meetings.
However, we had a couple of problems, though.
Firstly, there really is no justification for charging for wi-fi in any venue that wants to be considered business friendly, especially not charging more than I pay for a month's broadband access, for a few hours usage.
Secondly the bar lunch was almost unbelievably bad, and almost unbelievably expensive. At £12, I would expect a seriously good Club Sandwich, not a soggy mass of wet lettuce, almost raw bacon and rubber chicken, enclosed in wafer thin slices of toast, so wet that it was impossible to lift the sandwich. The chips were horrible, limp, underdone apologies tasting of cheap cooking fat.
