“Brilliant!!!”
Reviewed August 11, 2010

A warm welcome awaits you on arrival from Rob & Ruth at their stunning house where nothing is too much trouble. The newly larger than average, refurbished room we had (The Tewksbury) although on the lower ground floor (our choice) was a delight and one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in at a B&B. A super king size it most certainly is!! As for breakfast the choice is amazing and locally sourced where possible-great bacon. Remember to take your swimming gear as the pool is great and one of the warmest I have ever been in. Hardwick House is a great place to stay as it is not far from Tewksbury, Stratford and all the lovel Cotswold villages.
For an evening meal try the Fox and Hounds at Bredon just a 5min drive away.

We have just had my brothers stag party at Hardwell house and I can not say a bad word against the house or the hosts. Rob and Ruth made us feel very welcome in their own home and were helpful in every way. They gave me advise in advance of the trip with golf, taxis and where to go out which was very useful.
The house is set in incredible grounds and the it is great to have the heated pool availabe throughout the weekend. We were given full access to the kitchen for breakfast and dinner and were left to our own devices. There was no complaint from the lovely hosts at the noise late into the night as they let us have our fun.
I would recommend Hardwick to anybody I know and may even be coming back again for another stay.
Thank you Ruth and Rob.

I recently stayed at Hardwick House and thought that it was absolutely fabulous. This property is truly beautiful. It has lovely grounds and numerous extras that make it that little bit special.

The super outdoor heated swimming pool and pamper session (facials and other beauty treatments which had been arranged by Ruth for our group) were especially enjoyable!

We also enjoyed some excellent food in one of the local pubs. A super part of the country and a lovely place to stay. Well worth a visit.

People expect different things from accommodation and should look at the whole experience rather than just the food and service. These reviews are for constructive criticism and I feel the poor review from our party was more about personal expectation and hasn't looked at the experience as a whole. It is a fantastic location, welcoming and has an outdoor heated pool that I could only dream of having. The breakfast was cooked to order, for a large group of friends who wanted to eat at the same time so some of us had to wait. It was a leisurely breakfast because we were all talking, enjoying the time together and fortunately were left to do that . Many hosts would be wanting to clear up and get you out of the way. A couple of rooms are separate but that could appeal to some. We were fortunate to have the house to ourselves and that was a definite bonus. It depends on what is expected and sometimes people expect too much for what they are paying. I had a great weekend and hope you do too!

This is truly a lovely place to stay I have to disagree with the previous comments and believe I was in the same party. The hosts were brilliant nothing was too much trouble; they arranged beauticians for our hen party, allowed us to take over the whole house for our 'cocktail/disco party' and even arranged for the local landlord to come over to take our evening meal order. Rob the owner printed off google maps for us to navigate our way into Cheltenham. The breakfast did not take 2 hours to arrive at all! It was cooked to an individuals requirements - not microwaved!/or hanging around under a hot servery - everything was perfectly cooked and of a very high quality. I would certainly recommend this to hotel and would have expected to have paid alot more for the standard of service and this type of venue

100% DISAGREE with the review below. I do not usually contribute to tripadvisor, but having seen the last review, I felt I would have to reply!

We spent a Friday and Saturday night at Hardwick House with a group of friends. We received fantastic service for the whole weekend - Breakfasts cooked to order just the way you want it, local restaurants and taxis recommended and booked, a bucket of ice provided to chill the drinks whilst lying around by the pool..... there was nothing that was too much trouble.

The garden at Hardwick House makes this a fantastic summer weekend break. What better than a game of cricket on the lawn, followed by a swim in the pool and then finding a shady spot beneath a tree to read the weekend papers? Perfect!

The issue about the communal area in the review below is pretty odd. Rob, the owner, was at pains to tell us on arrival that we could use any area of the house that we wanted - and we did. If Rob and Ruth's little girls are using the pool table - all you have to do is ask and they will gladly make way! Never did we feel like we were in the way of the family.

All in all - I would defi recommend Hardwick House. Came away feeling it was great value for money and a lovely spot for a weekend break.

I have to say that our stay at Hardwick House was everything that we needed. I arranged a stag group of 15 people and we took over the entire house (with no complaints from the hugely accomodating hosts, Rob and Ruth). We used the house as our base for the weekend and were afforded free reign of the majority of the house (private residence aside), the huge games room, the expansive gardens and the pool.

The bedrooms were all spacious, clean and had private flat screen TVs, stocked fridges and towells.

The food was all cooked to order (which for 15 lads is some feat!) and without fuss and the hosts asked for nothing more than for us to take care of their property.

Highly recommended if you're looking to take over a stunning country house for a weekend.
