“Good hotel”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

Stayed here for one night unfortunately there was a wedding reception on so noise was bad especially as it went on till quarter to one in the morning room walls are thin so like others have said previously it sounds like a herd of elephants above you on the plus side beds are comfy and water is really got so you can have a good bath or shower but avoid this place if there is a wedding reception on as it is too noisy and we were round the back of the hotel and the noise was bad apart from that its a good decent horel

Stayd here for one night with newmarket hols. Found food to be excellent and service v good. Polite helpful young people. Room very clean and quiet. Drinks at bar not as expensive as many other hotels. Overall a pleasant stay.

2nd visit on a overnight stop with Glenton Holidays. Once again room clean and comfortable. Shower worked, plenty of hot water and plenty of towels. TV worked. My wife and I are both fussy vegetarians but we forewarned Hotel and arranged an alternative main meal which was provided without any fuss or bother. There were 2 Coach Parties staying at the Hotel and speaking from personal experience food was served reasonably quickly, hot and was of a good quality. Buffet breakfast was fine, staff were attentive and tea/coffee continually topped up quickly. Granted area not picturesque and rooms could do with some updating but staff are friendly and helpful which in my book counts for a lot! It is rated, possibly from some reviews borderline, as a 3 star so therefore amenities should be judged as such but more than adequate otel for a overnight or couple of days stopover I cannot comment on room prices as this accommodation was part of a package

Although staff were quite friendly and ground floor area of hotel ok the rooms are tired and dated. We could not use shower due to filthy growth around bath and tiles. I had to wear socks in room so my feet would not come in contact with carpet. This place needs investment badly and to be honest really is not a three star more like a two star. The price to stay overnight for my wife and I was a bit steep as it did not include breakfast. Bar prices also quite expensive. The wi fi in the room did not work also. Glad I only had to spend one night there and will never be back.

I booked this hotel as it was near a wedding party we were attending, the room it's self was very basic and old looking, the bath room was dirty and the bath look liked it needed a good scrub. The shower was leaky and didn't look very clean either everything looked like it needed a good clean. The full english breakfast we had was nice and the waitress was very helpful.
It looked like they had tryed to decorate the reception area and bar area with fancy chairs and table but it looked completely out off place and money would off been better spent updating the rooms

Please accept my apologies for the difficulties experienced during your recent stay at the hotel. Unfortunately your complete schedule had not been communicated to the hotel prior to the group arrival. This had an obvious detrimental effect on the usual high level of service provided by the team. Had the hotel been made aware of the restrictions to the dining timescale an operational solution would have been put in place to remedy any possible problems and therefore rectify the excessive queuing referred to in your account. I have noted your comments regarding the bedroom construction and passed your comments regarding breakfast service to the appropriate departments. Please accept my apologies once again.
