“A bargain at the special rate”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

We needed an inexpensive place to stay for two nights as we only wanted somewhere to sleep whilst visiting family. The first night was disturbed by noisy guests (East Europeans?) further down the corridor and we were wakened by loud creaking floors when the guest in the room above got up at 6am. The shower was very stiff to turn off when it had been running and got hot.
We complained to the manager and were moved to a much better room on the top floor (the shower worked when it was cold and he tested it!) At the special rate it was a bargain as it was cheaper than the cost of driving home and back again. At the full regular rate I wouldn't have been so satisfied however.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor facing the carpark to minimise noise from both inside and outside th...

We stayed for 2 nights, having been twice previously in the past few months. Despite a major fault with electrics which resulted in guests having to do without water or heating, the staff could not have done enough to ease the unexpected situation they found themselves in. The receptionists, waiting staff all helped the guests and were extremely pleasant and apologetic. Our monies were reimbursed without fail and thankfully the situation was rectified by the help of an electrical engineer. We will be back soon for another break and would recommend this hotel to any visitors.

Spent 4 nights here, the main entrance has a wet carpet smell that persisted for the whole time of our visit. Looks like it needs a revamp , especially the carpets. The first room we were given stank of stale tobacco smoke and looked yellow and tired , the second room was great. Restaurant food and service were terrific, especially the waitresses. Free parking and close to the shops.

Usual comfortable bed and lots of hot water in bathroom.

We stayed in same room as 12 months ago and the ripped curtain which we reported then had still not been changed! That is not acceptable.

Another problem was the use of low energy light bulbs in the bed side lights. They were terrible and so dim that it was impossible to read by them. Again, not acceptable.

Come on Premier Inn. You have carved out a good position and name in the market so don't rest on your laurels and let your standards slip. There are several alternatives in a crowded market place.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the busy road at far side of hotel. The noise is not too bad as the doub...

We stayed here for 3 nights visiting family. The room and bathroom facilities were very good. Bed extremely comfortable. No noise from nearby road and not disturbed by other guests. Only ate breakfast in hotel which was good. The staff in all areas of the hotel couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly and did all they could to ensure an enjoyable stay.

The best Premier Inn we have stayed in. The overall experience was excellent. The Restaurant staff especially at Breakfast time was brilliant. The room and bathroom was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I had actually booked for a family room and was surprised to see two small beds prepared for my kids which was not the case for other Premier Inns where my kids had to sleep on the sofa bed. I will definitely recommend this Premier Inn to friends and family. I will definitely book here again when I plan to take my kids to Harry Potter Studios in March....
