“Wonderful place to hide away from the world”
Reviewed August 27, 2013 via mobile

Was looking at local places to visit and this popped up on the list. I probably chose the wrong day to go for a first timer as there is a huge celebration tomorrow and it was very busy with all the preparations. Even so it was still really peaceful. Everyone was really friendly and helpful and no one objected to me just wandering around. Took a stroll through the George Harrison memorial garden,
along the woodland walk, around the lake and to the farm with the well pampered Ox and Cows. Lovely setting and thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so that I will try and get back to watch the festivities tomorrow. There's certainly a lot of effort being put in. The decorations are beautiful and the food smells amazing. Might be one of my new local hideaways!

simply the most relaxing place. :)

Beautiful surroundings, the most friendly and welcoming atmosphere, amazing food from the bakery (oooohhh the cakes!). Play area for kids, lovely grounds to walk in, a really special Cow Shed (Goshalla) where you see the most pampered cows and learn a lot about milk production. You may even get a chance to milk a cow :)
You don't have to be a HK believer or indeed of any faith background to appreciate all it has to offer. Tranquillity and a step out from life for a while - what's not to like??? :)

“A Little Bit of Heaven on Earth”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

Transcend your material consciousness by sitting peacefully by the lake taking in the beauty that surrounds you. Chant the Hare Krsna mantra: Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare... Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare and notice what changes. Move slowly and mindfully towards the Srila Prabhupada Garden and sit on one of the HARE KRSNA benches and contemplate the fact that this truly great spirit once sat on this lawn and delivered the message of Krsna to devotees, sitting in a circle. Imagine his soft, loving voice. Hear the birds sing. Then move towards the George Harrison memorial garden. Say a little prayer for George, the man who donated this magical temple to the Krsnas. Then go chant in the temple room and allow the energy to lift you. There will be food afterwards and many excellent books you may wish to pick up and read. I've been visiting for many years, on and off, and thank all of the people connected with this temple for their devotion and spirit. Hare Krsna X

The most peaceful and beautiful place to visit in Hertfordshire. Loads of parking available, and lots of beautiful gardens to sit and just view the beauty of the place.
