“Pretty average.”

I have stayed here a number of times and to be honest, it hasn't changed in years.

My room (16) was a bit tired looking and in need of re-decoration. The bathroom was like a 1960's shade of green, very offputting to be honest. But considering the resonable price, I will not complain.

The reception staff are friendly and also double up as bar staff (at least they did when I stayed), so expect a small wait sometimes, if you are at the bar at the same time as someone checking in.

The location is perfect for the town centre, with only a 3 minute walk.

Would I stay here again - based on the location and the price, YES.

Stayed here several times & will continue to do so.
It is very well placed for Watford going into the town, station & local sights.
The rooms are a bit dated, but the price is always brilliant.
The staff are excellent & the hotel is clean, just needs modernising.
The WiFi worked well in the room. Bathrooms were large enough, rooms were very comfy.
Tea making facilities are replenished daily along with the towels.
Free car parking opposite the building, which can be limited but an over spill car park can be found around the corner also.
Can't really fault this place or the staff, I'd recommend it for a short stay for anyone thinking about this property.

Had an executive twin room with my daughter for a trip to the Harry Potter studios, the room was very dated with anaglypta wallpaper, a coloured bathroom suite, a phone and fax facilities.
The wi fi was hideous and hardly allowed us to log on etc, despite it being merely outside our room!
A fire alarm went off at 0330 in the morning, Sunday!, No apologies no comments or anything in the morning so many thanks for that! We didn't eat here so cannot comment on this.
Car parking is convenient and we got the train into London twice- 20 minute walk to station.

The hotel does need modernising in my opinion.

I stayed across the road at the Travelstop Inn which is the hotels extension....

The room was perfectly fine and I paid £59 including breakfast instead of £85 across the road in the main hotel !!!

The service was superb, every meal came at lightening speed, and they couldn't do enough to help you.

Stayed for 3 nights and my only criticism is I have to leave !

Thank you

Room Tip: any with a bed in !

Recently stayed at the above hotel. It is a hotel that is still in the 1960's and needs to be updated fast. The bed was soft and the pillows like rocks. I really don't know how it has 3 stars !!!
The staff are great and cannot do enough for you, however the whole place is tried.
The breakfast is another thing the danish are old and stale the fruit for what it is, is not wonderful.
But "BEWARNED DO DRINK THE MORNING COFFEE" it is not at all good.

Room Tip: I wouldnt go their till its had a refit

We stayed Sunday night as we had a function at the Langley (Only 2mins walk away) Great location and very friendly staff. Right in the city center. Convenient car park. Clean and we had a good nights sleep. Definitely will go again and would also recommend to others.

Room Tip: Upper floors are nice and quiet. All rooms are nice and clean

It's my second visit to this hotel. The position is perfect ( city center is just 1 min walk away), the staff is extremely kind and the food is really good. Rooms are clean and well kept. The forniture is not really new but everything works just fine. Recomended!
