Stayed at the Hilton Watford over the weekend of Friday April 26th to the 28th. I had stayed previously at this hotel a few years ago, the dining room has had an upgrade, the servery being relocated, good choice of food at breakfast and evening dinner, the bar prices are a bit steep like all hotels are, however there is a pub next door where the prices are cheaper, the rooms are typical Hilton lay out, good selection of toiletries. hoping to return there again soon.

The rooms are underwhelming even for a relatively low-cost major hotel chain. The gym is tiny/cramped and was always busy. The restaurant (Atelier) had terrible dinner service (62 Margaret) and average to sub-par food (the soup starter was the highlight of my salmon dinner with dessert). From my experience with Hilton hotels this was not a good representation of the company. Even though the proximity of the hotel is very close to my customers, I will not be staying at the Watford Hilton again.

We stayed here as a large group in April and I have to say we were accommodated very well indeed.
Check in was extremely swift given the size of our group very friendly staff. Most of us had nice newly refurbished rooms with a good selection of toiletries, coffee etc. Our room was very nice, lovely layout and very spacious. The room was warm, a bit too warm, and it was difficult to reduce the temperature as there was no air conditioning, and the windows were quite small. The radiator was not on and was not particularly warm outside. We found leaving the windows open all day the following day helped.

Any way, very little to be disappointed with this hotel, the breakfast was more than adequate and nicely presented in the airy dining room, dinner very good, restaurant staff were efficient and friendly. We didn't have time to use the leisure facilities but they looked great given the size. There was a lovely bar on the lower ground floor and very airy lounge seating area's.
All in all another very good stay at this Hilton and would happily recommend to all travellers.

Stayed for two nights due to a conference, and having read mixed reviews, and with it being apparently close to the M1, we were not expecting particularly high standards.
However, starting with the reception staff, who were cheerful, extremely personable and equally polite and helpful, the standard of service, politeness and professionalism shown by the staff in general was very good - dare I say, refreshing!
The hotel was clean, tidy and well appointed - a few small tears in the carpets here and there, but chair legs do that after a while.
The double room was comfortable, clean and the bathroom spotless. The only detraction with this 2nd floor room was that unlike the floor (which was concrete) the division with the 3rd floor above was traditional wood joists, etc. and we could hear every footstep that the fairy elephant above us made. Too little soundproofing - would have been better if all floors had been made with concrete divides. However, the soundproofing for outside was 1st class - no external noise.
We used the small gym, which was okay, but were a little surprised to see a nice swimming pool and a sauna, as neither were mentioned on the official website that I looked at! Had we known, we would have taken swim gear, etc. Needs to be better promoted, as they are nice features.
The restaurant for breakfast was really very good. Nice decor, good service and an excellent choice of food, both hot and cold - really enjoyed the breakfasts.
The lounge/bar area was very comfortable with an eclectic mix of soft furnishings and tables, and the bar food that we ordered for lunch was also very good and served in timely fashion.
Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

Watford Hilton handily placed as a base for both business and leisure with road (M1, M25) and fast rail link to London.
As a loyalty card holder usually manage a upgrade and this trip was a junior suite which is more than adequate and comfortable with a separate seating area and desk from the sleeping area.
Warm friendly greeting at reception and fast check in.
Some rooms can be a trek and if you have luggage can be a nuisance with a small lift and long corridors and fire doors to get through. Handy though is an entrance to the building through the overspill car park at the rear of the hotel which I only discovered this visit. Allows you to park near the doors with a lift to all floors.
Lounge bar floor below reception is comfortable with a good menu, burgers, sandwiches, steaks etc and a handy place to watch sports on the big screen tv with a cold beer. Restaurant is adjacent for a more formal setting and also for breakfast which is the normal Hilton buffet style and can be said to be very good.
There is a Toby Inn next to the hotel and fast food joints further along Elton way.
Some parts of the hotel are beginning to look a bit tired and some of the corridors leading to the rooms could do with some redecoration but overall for a short stay is adequate.
Did not use the pool or gym this trip.

Room Tip: Junior suite, high floor rear of the buildin
