“Great as a pub, OK as a restaurant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

As a pub it's very nice, both inside and especially the beautiful (!!) outside seating.
The food was... OK, but definitely nothing to write home about.

“Good Food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

We have eaten here many times and had fantastic steaks and fish in the bar, good quick service , however a recent meal in the carvery has put me of of returning.

Firstly the chef was ready to serve us , and then my dessert didn't arrive with everyone else's , no apologies and then I had just started eating and we were asked to pay up and leave as the two hour limit on our table was up although the restaurant wasn't busy , we asked for coffees and was told that we needed to order them at the bar , when we complained we were told , that's normal in the carvery and perhaps we shouldn't have booked the carvery

“Nice pub meal, nice location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2013

We were staying at the Campanile hotel & after reading the reviews decided to eat there rather than at the hotel - its only a 10 minute walk away through a business park - we did wonder where we were going & what we were going to find !!! but it was a nice surprise.
As it was a Sunday night we thought it would be very quite but it was busy - steady, we were going to eat outside but it was still a bit too warm so we stayed inside - excellent air conditioning.
We both decided to have fish & chips - they were excellent & good value followed by an raspberry Eton Mess - again it was nice but a distinct lack of meringue !! We had a few drinks over looking lake - very pleasant.
Nice meal, good value - we would eat here again if we were in the area.

“Ideal Location with Lakeside View”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2013

We've eaten at The Wharf on several occasions mostly at lunchtimes or late afternoons and the meals including the sandwiches have been very enjoyable. I've taken to eating the crab and corn tartlet starter with a bowl of chips as this is enough for me. The fish and chips one of us was served yesterday was beautifully cooked, quite large and chunky. The Staff are friendly and the knowledgeable and seem happy. The Wharf overlooks a lake on which at times there are many species of ducks not forgetting the regular pair of swans and their brood. Shame the weather this Summer on the occasions when we have gone there have prevented us sitting out on the decking below the pub. The Wharf is ideally located midway from driving home from a shopping trip to Bluewater. Also a nice spot just to pull into for a drink or a coffee and serves food all day. Yes at times there are several children at the pub but they have so far not been a bother to us. Worth a visit though possibly not for 'that extra special meal' and can be busy weekday lunchtimes with possibly workers from the surrounding offices but this seems to clear later in the afternoon.
