Just returned from having lunch with a friend we thought we would try the yew tree. The garden at the front was very pretty with tables to dine outside. The interior was very homely and cosy and we were made to feel welcome. The staff were very friendly and although we waited a long time for our food it was worth it the chips were perfect and the quiche very cheesy my only niggle was that there were only two vegetarian options on main meals so if we returned we would be very limited
Overall we had a lovely relaxing lunch

This pub deserves every star it gets! This quaint, quiet establishment has everything you need for a perfect country pub. When we got there we were told we may have to wait 20 minutes whilst they served a larger table of 18, however this just goes to show the popularity of the Yew Tree. Waiting in a quiet corner of the pub, taking in the chilled out atmosphere, it makes you feel relaxed and at home. After reading reviews about waiting time, it becomes apparent that this is purely down to the fact that ALL the food is homemade, and how many pubs these days can say everything is freshly cooked. The presentation of the food was fantastic, with the taste was incredible. There was a huge array of food on the menu, and all very reasonably priced. This is a perfect place to eat if you are looking for a quiet lunch with friends or family, and has a beautiful outside seating area!! Definitely worth a visit, and I will be sure to make this a regular eating establishment.

The Yew Tree Inn really did save the day after my beautiful friend and her now husband got let down by their catering staff only an hour before their wedding. The Yew Tree stepped up and offered to feed 120. We will never be able to thank you enough. Seeing my friend so upset was heart breaking and you made her smile again. Thank you so much.
We will be back again for many more meals to show our thanks xxxx

Well there are loads of so-called restaurants in Maidstone if you like indifferent food and service, but this one is different!! Tucked away off the beaten track this relatively recently reopened restaurant is a little gem. The extensive menu stated that food was freshly cooked, have to admit I wondered as there was such a huge choice but the food proved me wrong. Everyone enjoyed their choices, and the next time I go there I shall enjoy something else - or maybe not I might just have to have another seafood paella, because this one was the tastiest/'juiciest' I have ever eaten!! Very pleasant service, very pleasant ambience - don't go there if you want instant food, chill out, it's high quality food well worth waiting for. Highly recommended.

We live locally and have watched with interest as this pub has regenerated since Christmas and finally decided to have dinner there a couple of Tuesdays ago with my wife's parents. Now considering we arrived five minutes after opening and were the only people in the pub, the order taking was painfully slow. Now when we are told that the salmon would take the longest time to cook because it was fresh, both delighted and worried us. So the order of cod, two plaice and the salmon seemed easy enough. Literally one by one the dishes came out forty minutes later, so of course the cod was stone cold by time the last dishes came. Nevertheless, service speed aside, the quality of the food was good, the value for money was acceptable and the restaurant comfortable. There is great potential here and just hope by the next visit they get out of first gear.
