“Nothing special...and a poor selection”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

I wouldn't rate this coffee house any more than one of the chain types, and quite frankly cannot understand the glowing reviews on here.

A really poor selection of food....unless you are one of the many stereotypical housewives from the nearby Grove Green estate that seem to frequent this place simply to gorge tnemselves on cakes and other sweet treats.

Of the minimal choice of sawdwiches they had available I chose just a simple plain cheese one. Regretfully they had used finely grated cheese- combine that with no other filling or something "wet" to bind it together- naturally as soon as you removed it from the packet the contents simply dropped out- quite literally- everywhere! My wife had the last toated panini type thing they had- which she said was OK, but again nothing special.

My coffee was, well.....a coffee, and my wifes Hot chocolate.... again just a Hot chocolate.

Some of the empty tables needed clearing- despite it not being very busy. One member of staff did wipe down a table in front of us, but then proceeded to simply wipe the crumbs etc off the table and onto the floor- highly efficient!

Staff were well presented, but severely lacking in any communication or retail social skills.

I have no specail reason to wish to return, but may use again- even if it's only for drinks if we are in the area.

... that serves a range of hot and cold drinks, The selection of pastries and cakes looks fantastic and the few I've tried were delicious but probably bad for you!

“Very Good!”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

Called into Bricks after visiting the crematorium across the road for a coffee.

Prices are reasonable and the drinks, both coffee and milkshakes are very tasty...as is the carrot cake!

Service is excellent with the staff telling you to take a seat and they'll bring the drinks over....you don't get that service in Costa or Starbucks!

Worth a visit, especially with the garden centre right next door!
